Chapter 22 – No Fangs, Just Claws

Koro observed the soul dive into the body of a young boy. The young boy was alone in his room and was fighting a fever which grew worse as the soul entered his body. The boy convulses for a few minutes. Milly thinks that the soul is absorbing the young boy's memories. They heard a sound of someone approaching and Milly casted a few spells so that they will not be discovered.

Victor came to check on young James. He saw that James woke up and he talked about his recent adventure in town. While Victor is entertaining James with his adventure, Thomas Logan arrived at the Howlett house drunk.

Thomas was working on his alcohol tolerance that day, much like everyone in the bar. When one drunk complained about Victor starting fights with the other kids, again. Victor never lost in a brawl and the bigger kids would challenge him often. That's what the father and son does to pass the time. Thomas drink, Victor fights.

On this particular day, Victor fought a dozen kids and won. Jason, leade of a gang of kids, couldn't take the humiliation that he and his gang lost. He came crying to his father that day. He said that Victor ganged up on him with a dozen kids. That is the reason the drunk father of Jason complained to Thomas that day.

Thomas kept to himself most of the time and does not want to attract any attention to himself. He apologized even when he is angry. Seeing a potential brawl avoided with a simple apology, most people would offer a kind or unkind word and continue drinking. a few drunks talked about certain rumors going around. One of those include Elizabeth Howlett. This rumor somehow hurt Thomas.

Something about the Howlett being bankrupt and Elizabeth Howlett needing to find another rich guy to cling into to survive. It was not a secret in town that Elizabeth hates her husband. Thomas heard this and was angry at Elizabeth for not going to him and asking for help. He drank to ease his anger. But the more he drank the angrier he got.

When his money run out, he went to the Howlett house to look for Elizabeth. He was angry and wanted to help and angry and concerned also about James. But mostly, he is just angry.

James rushed to the door when he heard Thomas shouting and looking for his mother. At this point, Milly said that James body is being controlled by the soul and is acting out of character. He might try to save John Howlett's life. If he succeeds then wolverine's mutation would not happen that day.

James dashed to the door to try and keep John Howlett from opening it. John saw his son's worry. What they didn't know is that Thomas would kick the door which was forced open, hitting James and knocking him out.

Good thing that Victor was able to catch James and lessen the impact of the fall.

John flew into rage and had a confrontation with Thomas Logan, resulting in Thomas shooting John. The soul inside James was not able to save John Howlett. He thought that he would not be that angry because John Howlett is not his father.

The soul inside James felt James' body have conflicting emotions of anger, extreme grief and a strong desire for revenge which should not be possible. That made the body mutate and the bone claws sprouted from his hand. A second later, the claws were impaling Thomas. Before he died, Thomas revealed that he is James' real father.

Elizabeth saw James mutation and Thomas' death. She did not even notice John Howlett's dead body. She called James a freak. The confused James who is also horrified for killing a person who turned out to be his father, fled into the woods with Victor following behind.

Koro observed James as he and Victor lived a life of rage and violence.

Koro found out that James sometimes acts just like in the movie, which is different from how Greg, the soul that took over James' body, would act. Greg is a simple kid who found himself in James Howlett's body. He would run away from Victor to live a normal life but after a few days, he would return.

Greg wanted to try and increase the mutation of his body. He also wanted to take advantage of James' regenerative powers and do some extreme training to increase his strength. He does not want to follow the timeline or plot in the movie and the first step is to be as far away from Victor. He does that and eventually returns on his own. And every time he does that, he temporarily forgets the reason he tried to leave.

It was at this time that Milly revealed to Koro what he is missing.

"Master, when I was asleep, I was able to view your memories." The fairy said as they were following James and Victor.

"I thought that you want to go back because you missed your family." Milly pointed out. She kept some words to herself, 'although in your memories you don't have a family', and added, "but now, I think you wanted to go back simply to make sure that they destroyed your pc after you were gone".

Milly flew around Koro as she kept on, "Are you afraid that people would discover your collection? Or are you afraid of people seeing Natasha Romanov as your desktop wallpaper?"

Milly's words made Koro remember some things and he was a little mad. How could Milly think that THAT is his reason? The reason why he wants to go home is to see his family one last time. He misses…them. Why can't he remember any names or faces?

"Master," Milly flew in front of Koro and kept on talking, "Is it because Natasha is not a twenty-something? Is that what makes you feel embarrassed? Look, the fact that they were able to sell the movie while making her cover almost every part of her body is an accomplishment. Not a demerit."

Milly saw that her words were having an effect.

"Sorry master. I just want to tease you. While I was asleep, your memories were being played over and over. Although there were many parts that were obscured."

Milly saw Koro's attention was focused on her and she decided to lay it down and tell it to him.

"Master didn't you realize it yet? Most of your actions were not your own. Something is guiding you. You absolutely love Natasha Romanov but you just teased her or pushed her away. Whenever you decide to do something about your love for her, you end up doing something weird or something else." Milly said her observations to her master.

"Master, you are a healthy young boy yet you never visited any strip clubs, drink beer, smoke or have a girlfriend. You had the super soldier serum and you almost never used it. Grandmaster said that your soul is tainted by this fanfiction dimension. There were plenty of things that shows evidence to that."

"Master, everyone loves robots but you never desired for your own iron man armor. You have lived almost three millennia and you are still a virgin. I don't think any man would enjoy centuries of living in the friendzone…"

"Milly" Koro cut her off, because it looks like she had a lot of things to say. Its just with the way she is going, its possible that her words would only be insults.

"Yes master." She waited for what Koro will say next.

���We will be watching horror movies for the next few months, because I did not like some of the words that you said." Koro gave out a punishment for the fairy and ignored her cries. He contemplated on what she said and agreed with her. He also has some questions of his own. He can't remember his family. The main reason why he wants to go home. Does he really have a family in another earth?

If he does not have any family? Then why did he leave? Doubts began to surface on their daring escape. How did they manage to infiltrate the treasure vault of his master and take the dragon hearts?

How come that he did not treat anyone in MCU as npc? As he dwells on it, more questions with no answer pops out.

Koro waves his hand and the magic circle around his body appeared. He is beginning to have doubts about this magic circle. What happens if he destroys it? Why does he believe that destroying it would destroy his chance of returning home? Isnt dimensional travel one of the abilities of an official wizard? Why is he relying in a magic circle instead of focusing on training and breaking through the next rank?

Whatever the answer is he cant find it by throwing questions over and over. Maybe he can discover the answer by observing Greg/James.

Greg tried a few more times to go against the timeline/plot but he was unable to change anything. Koro watched as Greg lived the life of James Howlett as if watching the movie live. He watched James become weapon X, escape and finally join the X-men. After watching for years, Koro felt something change with Greg/James, who now goes by the name Logan/Wolverine.

Koro felt a unique energy in Greg. The energy moves around Greg's/James' body randomly. Whenever the energy is in the head, Greg can act on his own without being affected.

Ever since Koro discovered that unique energy, he felt a strong desire to kill Greg. When the desire became too intense, he grabbed Greg and teleported. They found themselves inside a dome beside a tower. Koro could not believe that the tower still exists. One more thing that he could not believe is that Hela is still alive.

Koro killed Greg/Wolverine and the unique energy was released. He was unable to absorb it because the magic circle surrounding his body absorbed it before either was able to do anything. After the magic circle absorbed the energy, Koro felt the whole universe collapsing unto itself. Everything became dark and when Koro woke up, he saw another dimensional crack. A soul whose energy is different from Greg.
