Lucian lived in a world where white people preyed on black citizens. Specifically cops took advantage of their privilege killing the people he loved every day. 

Being black felt like a death sentence but he wasn't afraid to show his true colors. He won't hide behind a mask or be stuck between two worlds. He's had enough. 

His mother told him shine his "light" because his name had meaning. He remembered her words, as they pierced through him. He discovered more, as time went on.
