Oliver Lancaster had led a normal life for as long as he could remember. Not too good not too bad. That was until he started playing a popular VRMMORPG called “Net-Core”. Gifted with a mysterious class “hero” he finds out that he can only level up by saving people and has strange abilities. However soon enough things take a turn in the real world and he discovers that it isn’t just a game anymore and that things are very much real.

It was true that a blizzard bear of level 61 being on a level 30 dungeon as well as being the first monster we encountered didn't make sense.


But we didn't have time to think about that as we were to busy trying not to die.


We dived out of the way as the giant bear lunged at us.


Max used a power beam which was a basic but powerful spell that the mage class use but the bear simply swat it away.


It then charged at Max and headbutted him towards the wall knocking him out.


The bear went for the killing blow but i shot three bullets and it looked at me.


However letting the only person who might stand a chance against the thing die was a worse idea.


The bear charged at me but suddenly I heard a ding.


-Revolver Upgrade- Mana bullets: Use mana as a substitute for bullets and deal more damage.


Apparently my theory, that whenever I save someone, whatever I used get's upgraded, was right.


I jumped out of the way but the bear saw that coming and shot an ice beam.


Suddenly Aurora jumped in my way and took the hit.


That was unexpected but I had no time to think Aurora was now frozen and I had to protect her cause frozen applies a fragile effect which makes them vulnerable to attacks.


I shot 2 of my new mana bullets at the bear which dealt significant damage.


With the time I had gained I used a temporary upgrade ability to upgrade my dagger to a flaming dagger.


-Equipment temporary upgrade:Dagger>>Flaming Dagger


I shot two more bullets at the bear and ran to it to land the killing blow. The bear expected this and lunged at me. However at the last moment I leapt to the side and drove the dagger into it's body and sliced it apart finishing it.


I heard a notification appear in my status bar but I already knew what it was.


-New Upgrade:Dagger>>Ice Attribute:The dagger will freeze enemies for 10 seconds or less depending on the level. Can be activated or deactivated at will.


-New Ability:Dodge:Can dodge any enemy attack. Cooldown- 2 minutes


"That's pretty good" I thought to myself.


I took both Max and Aurora outside and decided to go to the nearest shop.


With all the gold I earned I bought a freeze heal and an awakening.


From this experience I had learned two valuable points.


-It upgrades the equipment or abilities used 


Solo grinding wouldn't work with this ability which did annoy me but considering how fast I could level up and all the equipment upgrades that didn't seem like that big of a drawback.
