[Slash has leveled up to Level 5. Damage is X+20+50%STR]
I kept on slashing at the wooden stake for hours as it was getting a little harder than before but I still persevered knowing the benefits I would get just by doing this over and over again.
"Young Lord, it is time for lunch. You haven't eaten breakfast yet so I suggest we proceed to the dining hall and meet your father there."
I did not argue with him as I noticed that as I felt hungrier the rate of regaining my stamina became much slower.
"Okay, I'll do as you ask."
Benedict walked with me from my side as I prepped my stomach going into battle once again but when I arrive the scene was very different from the last. What I saw was the normal food that I once craved. Chicken! Pork! Beef! Yes!
The meal was delicious. It was a normal one and not a strange one. The Duke my Father gathered everyone's attention as those that were in here focused their attention on him.
"Everyone, tomorrow, Duke William of Firoria is coming here with his daughter and I would like for everybody to prepare yourself to welcome our guests from afar."
Firoria was also a dukedom that situated south of the kingdom bordering the other two kingdoms. There were three dukedoms and the last situated in the east at the base of the mountains. Windoria was at the North-West, seeing that our counterparts from the south meant that it was an important occasion only lesser than when a king or royal family member would visit.
The announcement ended there and the knights and other servants of the Duke got back to their daily assignments. I myself rested for a while in my chambers. It was noon and the sun was up high in the sky. There was nothing else to do than rest for a while and get back to training once again later.
I lied down on the bed but I couldn't just stay still and stood up and walked towards the mountains of books lying on the side. I slowly looked at the titles one by one to find something interesting in here.
The Siege of Heartfell City.
Adventures of Sven.
Mysteries of the Barren Canyons.
When I looked up at the next book I saw it titled, Magical Theories. Is this book for magic? I have one in here? I looked it up and saw the introduction of the book.
'Magic lies in all of us. It surrounds us. It is there but you cannot feel it nor touch it. When only the human body has harnessed its power to its extent are you able to use it.'
It was a brief explanation and got me intrigued. I turned on to the next page and saw a human body with arms spread sideways. Dots with lines from the fingers going to the heart and from there all over the body.
This page explained the mana flow from the dots that will circulate throughout the body. It guided with information on the most basic circulation technique spread across the continent. I tried myself doing as it told but to no avail, I failed. I couldn't feel any mana inside of me maybe I wasn't talented enough to do magic?
Even though I failed I stilled read the entire page and turned on to the next one where it explained how to feel the mana floating in the air. It was vague and the writings did not help me much. It only told me to feel the wind and the air passing through my skin and entering my pores. It made me concentrate as I did that thinking that I have no mana inside of me so I couldn't have used the circulation technique.
I kept doing it and tried over again. I failed but I did not give up. On the 17th attempt, I felt something. It was a weird sensation of something entering your skin then gradually accumulating then move from one part of the body to another until it gathered at my heart.
Ding.
[User has achieved Mana Body Level 1.]
[Mana: 15/15]
I tried using the circulation technique and felt the mana moving inside of me. It jumped from one dot to another through the lines specified in the book. It was a weird and joyous feeling. I kept it at it for a while and felt that I wasn't improving.
I read the book again thinking the solution was there but there was no information regarding increasing the capacity of the mana inside of me. I sighed at that fact it was going to be hard improving.
How do I even use this mana? When I don't even know techniques like a fireball.
I began finding books related to magic theory and somehow increased my INT with a +1.
Ding.
[User has read many books. Increasing INT, +1]
My INT became 16 and increased by 1.
As I saw my stat the Mana Capacity grew by one. It solved my question on how to do it. Reading books would take a while when increasing the capacity but I don't have the techniques on improving it. I saw again the mountain of books and sighed at my predicament.
Well, it's a great start considering I can now use magic. But why didn't this body of mine learn magic in the past? There were too many unsolved questions that kept popping into Leo's mind now. It would take a while before he could solve what had happened to his body in the past.
Leo kept reading and reading forgetting about his sword training. He became immersed with the different information scattered in his room. Books were complete and a half-complete when he became bored with it. This had gone on for a few hours as he finally stopped as when his INT has increased to 20.
Leo got back onto the bed and lied down sleeping immediately as he closed his eyes being mentally fatigued just by reading a ton of books. He didn't find one book of Magical Techniques that would enable him to learn but he did not fret because an opportunity might present itself in the future.
Knock. Knock.
"Young Lord, dinner has been served."
I gradually opened my eyes as I heard Benedict call me from behind the door. I guess its time for dinner. I hoped the dinner this time would be normal too.
I walked down the hallways and entered the dining hall and to my surprise and joy, it was a normal dinner. Everyone saw me waking to the table with visible joy in my face.
