The Moon

Shadows and darkness have always been my friend

I see the moon rise just round the bend

The soft shade of light shines gently on the ground

As the trees and crickets dare not make a sound

The moon is gentle and swift

Though doesn't feel appreciated for its gifts

A quick quiet breeze as it drifts through the trees

Making quiet little rustles as it blows on the leaves

The sun shines bright in the day

Blinded in the light the moon runs away

Children play in the green grass and sun

The moon stands in the back wishing it could have fun

The moon talks with the stars but they are the same

Their the same as the sun but get no fame

The stars have groups, some stay in clicks

Well others stay alone and play little tricks

The moon finds the ocean peaceful and sound

As it makes small splashes and sprays all around

It too has feeling put to shame

As the people play on land and do fun little games

The ocean is the same as the moon

And the lakes sound the quiet call of a loon

The moon and the water play together

When they get into fights the water rages with weather

In the end the moon is always there

They stick together and play between air

Sleep well moon and rest assured

The water will be there crashing upon the shore
