Chapter Four

Ava's Pov:

I opened my eyes to a bright light with machines going off beeping in the background. I could hear the nurses rushing in to come check on me. Ariel and Freddy sat on the two chairs beside my bed and Miles wasn't here. I smiled at them knowing they would always be there for me. We all were close knit friends. I looked at the hospital gown and tried to remember why I was in here but came up blank.

"You fainted in the training court today. Your stable and completely fine. You're just drained and stressed." The nurse said as Ariel and Freddy began to stand. She grabbed my hand but look worried. Fear was hiding under her expression.

"What the hell happened?" Freddy asked. He seemed worried.

"I don't know. That never happened to me before." Ariel nodded and looked worried.

Sorry. Wasn't supposed to say anything until now. You are a Athena's daughter.

What Emily said couldn't register in my mind right now. I sat there completely speechless. Ariel and Freddy look at me with confusion. I shook my head and stood up to walk into the bathroom to get changed. After coming out they both followed me to my bedroom. Gray and light purple screamed in this room. The curtains, the wall and the bed set. I sat down in the couch near the tv as did Ariel and Freddy.

"Emily told me I am Athena's daughter. She didn't explain either." Freddy shook his head and Ariel looked completely stunned and speechless.

"Is that what happened in the training court?" I shrugged my shoulders.

"Do we tell Miles?" I shook my head with a horrified look.

"No, Freddy. I don't even know what's going on. So why should I tell my mate who doesn't want to be around me." He nodded agreeing. We all stood up realizing we were hungry so went walked to the kitchen downstairs. Miles sat on a chair next to a women with long brown hair. She had one blue eye and one green eye. She looked absolutely beautiful. My insides started to twist just looking at her next to him. He looked gorgeous wearing a gray T-shirt with black jeans. He looked up at us all standing there stunned by her beauty. But I quickly shrugged it off grabbing a sandwich from the fridge. I sat down and began to eat it.

"How was training? Didn't expect to blast a female away?" The female said. I looked at her with confusion.

"Ava this is Gara. She is an oracle who will be staying for awhile." Freddy spoke quickly. I nodded.

"So that's why you asked. Unless you have something to say to me. Don't speak to me." I hissed. This oracle just rubbed off the wrong way and Emily wasn't having it. Miles growled at me.

"Oh really? So I shouldn't mention Athena to you either?" I quickly looked at her with hate. She shouldn't have brought it up. Oracles tend to speak when not spoken to and have theories always coming out of their mouths. I stood up and walked out the room. Freddy trailed behind me to stop me.

"Don't listen to her. Only listen to Emily." I nodded and gave Freddy a quick hug thanking him for being there for me.

There was a loud growl coming from behind Freddy. We turned to see Miles standing there with a pissed off expression. He started coming our way and Freddy stood in front of me blocking Miles from me. Heat started to spread through my body. I could feel a barrier start to form around me and Freddy and Miles tried to claw through it but it was burning his hand. I stood there speechless but kept concentrating on keeping the barrier there. Once Miles stopped and focused on what I was doing he stared at me with adoration and love but mostly confused.

"Ava. What are you doing?" He seemed worried and confused but Freddy stood unfazed by it.

"You don't come over here and start acting possessive toward other males around me. Freddy is my best friend along with Ariel. They come before you. And if you harmed the pack they would come before you. Don't ever! Ever try to harm us again." My voices laced with anger as Emily tried to pronounce herself as well. I stood there confident and strong as he looked at me with shock. Freddy turned to me and nodded leaving the room. I shook my head and walked toward my room forgetting Miles.
