Lynx successfully infiltrated one of the buildings, even if he used some unconventional methods to do so. However, it signified that he entered the enemy's den too.
Entering from the front door would have been an easy task for Lynx if he wanted to, and even if the huge looking guys came at him together, he could literally erase them without raising a finger. In spite of that, he chose this approach because of some reason.
Firstly, Lynx never wanted to kill anyone if it was not necessary. He already lost many precious people, so he thought he understood the value of someone's life.
Secondly, Lynx couldn't show his power in public, where someone could witness him using it. Because, an overpowered individual like that will certainly catch the attention of the whole world, and that would have been troublesome for him and for the professor, but more importantly the higher-ups won't let him live freely.
And finally, Lynx didn't know the professor's true intentions. Certainly, he trusted him but he was always more cautious than most people.
Considering all of that, Lynx thought about a plan.
"Don't worry, this is the most effective way that I could think of... I will use that..."
Lynx deactivated his suit with a deactivation command, then the suit retracted and turned into a little black box that he could easily hold on his right hand. He used it to enlighten the darkroom after.
"That? That what?" The professor asked with a confused tone.
It seemed like they weren't on the same page.
"My corrosion ability..."
"Aaaaaa... That... But isn't it a bit too risky to use that here?"
"Don't worry, I just need to create a little panic then use that panic to search around discretely..."
"Haha..." The professor just left out a bitter laugh. He knew that Lynx had something else on his mind like he always did in the past.
The corrosion power gave Lynx the ability to turn everything he touched into dust.
Lynx's case was very rare, even unique because he could use at least three different kinds of abilities. That was too overpowered even in that world full of superpower.
Normally, in the world where Lynx lived, superpower was part of humanity's everyday life.
These superpowers were divided into two categories.
CREATION and DESTRUCTION.
-
CREATION is the type of power that gave the holder the ability to create or control something that exists in this world. However, everyone had their own affinity and can only use that.
The most common affinity was water, electricity, fire, metals, and gas.
This category of power had two subcategories: Control and Create.
' Control' is the type of creation power that enhances or creates more. In other words, an external source was needed in order to activate it. This type of ability is really powerful because the holder had better control of their power and didn't have to use too much energy. However, the holder couldn't use their power if there wasn't something with the same affinity around.
The intensity and amount of the power that can be controlled at a time vary according to the person's level.
On the other hand, 'Create' give the ability to create something from nothing and use the body as a source. The amount varies depending on the person's level.
People who had this type of power were at a disadvantage if they fought with someone who had the same affinity and the same level as them, but with the control type.
Even if these two categories of power using human energy as a source, the 'create' power is more draining but had a big destruction power and intensity. It was hard to control though.
These were the characteristics of the people who possess the CREATION power.
-
DESTRUCTION power gave only the ability to destroy to its holder. This type of power was considered rare and very powerful if used in a fight. Corrosion, black hole, and darkness were considered part of this category.
This category of power didn't have any significant subcategories, but most of the holders used their own bodies as a source of energy.
There was some kind of power that didn't belong to both of these categories though, and they were almost nonexistent. Space, time, and light.
-
The level of a person is determined by the amount of energy that his body can store. The level was from 1 to 10.
Still, there were exceptions. The people who were called " The Elus". These people could use 'control' and 'create' at the same time and had a huge amount of energy stored inside of their bodies. They were too overpowered and were given the title of Level 10. They were fewer in number and attracted the intention of the public. Some were considered as a hero, a star, a leader and some stayed hidden or unknown to the public.
-
Lynx was different from all of them though. Because he could use the Destruction power itself. More than an élu, he was a multi holder with a level 10.
The reason why he had that power was unknown. However, there was no one like him before and he didn't meet one yet.
He was an élu among the élus.
Despite these facts, Lynx wasn't blindly confident in his ability. He knew that "this power is nothing if it brings suffering to yourself and the other". He knew that more than anyone else.
This time too, Lynx chose a different way to do things.
"I don't like doing this but it cannot be helped...."
Lynx moved a box and hide the hole inside of the storage room with it. After that, he touched the door with his right hand, then slowly the door began to crumble until it finally turned into dust. After that, he quickly laid down on the floor, right in front of the door, and played the dead.
Only 3 minutes had passed since he arrived inside the storage room.
"What are you doing? Hey, Lynx can you hear me...?" The professor was confused because Lynx didn't put his sunglass nor his helmet so he couldn't see anything.
Lynx didn't answer but continued to play the dead.
This approach was all about patience because he didn't know when someone will come.
Thirteen minutes later Lynx was still laying on the floor. Then someone finally came and saw Lynx lying on the floor with a pale face and drolls.
He was staff from the kitchen who came to take some ingredients.
The man panicked and quickly called his coworkers. Everyone was shocked and confused by this scene. Then one they approached Lynx and put his fingers on Lynx's neck. That man was brave.
Realizing that Lynx was alive, he asked someone to call the security.
The security arrived and looked at the scene. They were confused about the door and the reason for Lynx's presence inside of that storage room.
"Who is this guy, how did he come inside?" One of the two security guards who came inside the storage room asked, probably because they didn't find the hole yet.
"Is he sick or what? Is he one of the staff here?" The other security guard asked that question while looking at the staff who worked in the kitchen.
"No, we never saw him before..." The man who approached Lynx answered.
"Whatever, just carry him somewhere else, for now, tie his hands and legs and put him inside the isolation cells before he wakes up... If he came here alone, he must be not an ordinary guy... Search thoughtfully the whole building without making it obvious, there might be some other intruders wandering around. Then report this to the boss discretely...He doesn't like this type of incident after all..." The person who waited outside along with the kitchen staff said these words while going away. He was the head of security.
As ordered, the two security guards brought Lynx somewhere inside of the building, but since he closed his eyes, he didn't know the exact location.
Of course, Lynx hide his sunglass, his phone, and the black box somewhere inside of the storage room before he did that act.
Lynx felt his hands being tied on the chair behind his back and his legs on the chair's legs.
He acted like he was still unconscious. This act was only possible because the professor and he thought about various ways to deal with difficult situations before, and this was the result of Lynx's formation.
Splash!!
One of the security guards tossed water at Lynx's face.
"Hey! wake up!!!" He yelled with a loud voice right in front of Lynx's face then exited the room.
The room had a cubic design and the floor, the cellar, and the walls were pure white.
Lynx was sitting and tied on chair in the middle of that room.
He pretended to wake up slowly as if he was unconscious for hours.
"Mmmm....mmmm...mmmm...We..re..am I?" He faked his voice, like someone who was very tired.
"We are the one who asks the questions here... Let's see...First, tell me your name..." The voice came from outside of the room but directly transmitted inside, and it looked like there were some cameras inside of the room.
Lynx began to wonder 'why something like this exists inside of a Love hotel?.
"Hmmm...My name...What is my name...hahahahaha...what is my name....what is my name...hahahahahaha...My name is hahaha" Lynx began to laugh like a maniac.
"Is he alright, or is he just pretending to be deranged..."
The security guards began to talk between them.
"Well, something like this is not rare when spies get caught...They pretend to lose their mind and refuse to answer the questions...He must be hiding something...How did he get inside of this building in the first place and why did pass out inside that storage room? Why did he go there?" The other one answered, then asked some questions.
The three security guards inside of the observatory room had many questions inside their minds.
"Don't worry he will talk soon... We need to know everything before the boss gets here... Shit! After many years working for this organization and we are still treated like watchdogs and do shitty jobs like this..." The head of the security guard looked annoyed, then he added "Torture him if he still doesn't want to talk... We need to know his true motives, his employer, and if he has some more friends wandering around here or not... You can use that..."
Sticking his tongue out, the one who talked to Lynx over the microphone answered "Mmmm...I can use that huh..."
"Kekekeke...I wonder how long this one will last..." The head security laughed creepily.
