Chapter 5: Pretender

"Let's begin the interrogation...Kekeke"

One of the security guards talked to Lynx over the microphone, with a malicious voice full of ill intentions.

"...."

Lynx pretended to be confused and moved his head up and down, left and right as if he was in a state of panic.

"Hahaha, it seems that he regained his spirit... Hmmm... it's more exciting this way..."

The man pushed a button and activated some mechanism inside the room where Lynx was tied.

The room was slowly filled with water until the water level reached Lynx's haunch.

"Hahahaha....look at him, he is scared..."

"Certainly, this is the only thing enjoyable about this job... "

The security guards talked between them.

"Well let's begin this... What's your name?! Who sent you?! And, what's your goal?! Answer now... I will give you five seconds..."

One of them yelled at Lynx.

"...."

Facing down, Lynx stayed quiet.

"Well, can't be helped..."

The security guard pushed a button again, with a big creepy smile on his face. These buttons were used to command the torture devices inside the room. There was a console used solely for that purpose inside of this observatory room.

Instantly after that, a high voltage of electricity was sent directly inside the water.

Bzzzz!!!

The room was enlightened by the electric lights.

Bzzzzzzz!!!!

"Stop now, or he will die... We need to ask for more information first." The security guard next to the one who pushed the button warned.

The man who pushed stopped, but Lynx didn't move.

Lynx couldn't hear about what the guards were talking about when they didn't activate the microphone and directly talked to him.

"Hmmm... This guy isn't moving, did he die?" The one who pushed the button asked sarcastically.

"Tch... You overdid it, what are you gonna do now?" The one who was next to him asked.

"Calm down you guys, this might be a trick... He wants us to go inside and check him... He might have some hidden tricks... Keep going, he won't die easily..." The head of security, who sat arrogantly behind the two of them talked with a bossing voice.

"Roger..."

Bzzzzz!!! two times. Bzzzz!! Four-time, until the tenth time. They keep torturing Lynx for hours while asking the same question again and again.

However, Lynx never let out even a little moan.

After a while, the head of security lost patience.

"Tch... He probably died after all... You guys, go check him..."

The two security guards looked at each other, and with a rock-paper-scissor game, they decided who will check Lynx's conditions. In the end, the one who kept pushing the button lost.

With displeasure on his face, the man went inside the white room where Lynx was.

"Hey...you...Heyyyyy are you still alive?"

At that moment, the boss arrived inside of the observatory room, and the two-man who were inside stood up quickly and showed him full respect.

The boss sat on the chair where the head of security sat before, while he stood straight beside him.

The boss didn't have a scary face or a huge figure. He was a handsome man with blonde hair wearing a black costume with a flower design. He wore many precious jewels made of diamonds and gold, such as rings, collars, and earrings.

He was gifted with a level of 8 power. He can generate electricity.

His name was Kevin Manoro.

"So...Who is he?" Kevin asked with a bossy and imposing tone.

"Sorry... He didn't talk yet so we are currently checking his conditions."

Kevin raised his right arm, put his elbow on the chair's armrest, and crossed his legs. He began to tap his mouth with his finger.

The tension was so intense for the two security guards who stayed inside the room.

"Hmmm...Hurry up then..." Kevin gave an order.

"Yes, boss!"

Unfortunately for them, when the person who went to check Lynx tried to tap his head again, Lynx suddenly stood up. His hands and legs free.

"What!!!! ...." The man was surprised when he saw Lynx standing up and tried to take a step back, but because of the water he lost his balance and fell backward.

Splash!!

"Mmmmm...." Lynx tried to move his numb articulations. He was soaked wet.

"Oh...He is alive and free. What is the meaning of this?" Kevin was a little surprised and looked at the head of security while saying these words.

"Well... I-" He flew at the wall before he could finish his sentence.

With an electric attack using only his left hand, Kevin sent the head security flying without hesitation. Then looked at him as he was trash.

Kevin didn't say anything after that, but just stood up and walked toward the console. Then he activated the microphone.

The man who fell in the water stood up too and activated his power. He was gifted with a level 5 and could control water.

He then used the water to engulf Lynx's body, and thought about restricting his movement, by only leaving his head out.

"Hey...You, who are you?" Kevin asked with a calm voice using the microphone.

Lynx answered, "Do you know the name the name Liza?"

Kevin deactivated the microphone and said, "Hey you, go and tell the other guy to cover his head too when I give the order...", to the other security guard.

"Ah...Yes, boss!!!"

The man moved quickly after receiving these orders and went to tell his coworkers what Kevin said.

"Do it..." Kevin ordered.

The man engulfed Lynx's head inside of the water.

Glup,glup, glup!!!

Lynx looked like he was on the verge of passing out.

"Stop..." Kevin ordered.

The man freed Lynx's head.

"I will ask one more time, who are you?" Kevin asked Lynx a second time.

"Ahhhhhh..." Lynx left out a big sight then added, "Why do I have to go through all of this just because I followed a girl... It seems like there is no room for discussion at all this time... But it won't hurt to try..."

shaaaa!

Lynx freed himself from the water and landed on the floor. The man who controlled the water was surprised because he used his full power to hold Lynx.

The two security guards judged that Lynx was dangerous so they prepared to attack him. The two of them had a control type of power, and they were both level 5.

One started to gather the water around and made it float above them. The other one took out his lighter and lighted a fire, then used it to create a medium fireball on his right hand. The fireball was four times the size of an adult's head.

Seeing that, Kevin ordered, "Do it..."

Rapidly, the man who controlled water created many small bubbles of water and launched them at Lynx with amazing speed. The damage caused by one of these bubbles of water was similar to four successive fusil hits.

The other man launched the fireball directly at Lynx with a precise aim. Their attack continued without letting Lynx catch his breath.

These two guards had good control of their power even though their levels were low.

Ta, ta, ta... Boom!!

The fireball landed directly at Lynx while some of the water balls hit the wall.

Ssssssh...

The intensity of the fire vaporized the remnant water around the place where the attack landed.

The smoke generated by the heat hindered the view and the three of them couldn't see Lynx.

"You won't die even without one of your legs or arms right?" Lynx's voice was cold and threatening.

People and animals have a certain sixth sense that humans called instinct.

Certainly, at that moment, the two people who were inside of the room with Lynx, realized yet again that this sixth sense really existed.

Lynx's presence frightened them even though he didn't move at all, and probably in their eyes, they saw some dark looking smoke gathered around him. 'This is probably what they call aura' That thought crossed their mind at that moment.

"What are you doing? keep attacking..." Kevin was surprised by the results and quickly gave an order. He thought that it wouldn't be wise to let Lynx catch his breath.

However, before the two security guards could prepare their next attack, the two of them fell on the ground.

Crash!!

"Guaaaaaaa...My legs.....Aaaaa shit...."

"F**k....what did you do Aaaaaaaa....."

The two of them lost one of their legs. Their blood covered the floor and colored the remnant water into a deep red.

The screams of the two men echoed inside the room, while they held their legs overflowed by blood.

"Well, I am the one who asks the questions now..." Lynx talked with an intimidating voice while looking at Kevin.

He couldn't see through the wall but he just had a hunch that maybe Kevin was on that side.

Kevin was irritated and yelled, "You F**king son of a b*tch, I will kill you..." over the microphone.

Lynx just pointed at him then...

"Bang!!"

The wall in front of Kevin disappeared, and they faced each other for the first time.

"So you are the boss huh... That simplifies a lot of things... Don't worry about losing a leg or an arm, it won't kill you..." Lynx's eyes were cold and his facial expression was relaxed. However, he was more frightening that way.

It looked like Lynx ran out of patience and decided to end things.
