The Cosa Nostra (Part 13)

Overhaul, with his two bottom arms, reached down and touched the ground. The floor rippled, causing Nighteye to fall. Chris had jumped up. Overhaul, predicting this, used a third arm to grab a piece of debris. It turned into tiny shards that flung themselves at Chris. The young hero raised his guard. He was lucky that his metal gauntlets took most of the punishment, or they might've pierced right through his body. Nighteye put Eri down and threw several seals at Overhaul. However, Overhaul's new body was too large and strong to be affected by Nighteye's support gear. Overhaul rushed towards the pro hero, being surprisingly quick for his size. Nighteye ducked to the side. As Overhaul turned, he was forced to raise his guard. Chris had launched himself from a nearby wall and slammed into Overhaul. Overhaul slid about a meter before digging his foot into the ground. Chris quickly jumped away to avoid being grabbed. Nighteye had gotten back up at this point. The two nodded to each other. They may not like each other, but if they didn't work together, neither of them would leave there alive.

Rappa slowly sat back up, holding his head. Fatgum was shocked. Tengai also began to get back up. The pro hero swore to himself. His fat wouldn't return for a few more hours and Kirishima was still unconscious. However, instead of fighting, Rappa smiled from underneath his tattered mask. "...You two are quite the pair…" He nodded to a doorway on the far side of the room, being unable to lift his arms. "...There's a medical wing in this building past that door… Let's go get patched up…" Fatgum was dumbfounded. "...How stupid do you think I am…?" "Do I look like the kind of guy who would set a trap?!" Tengai just sighed, still holding his head, which was dripping blood. "...He's telling the truth… for whatever it's worth…" Fatgum stood up, leaving Kirishima on the floor. "But why would you try to patch us up?" "Because we're still alive. When we fix ourselves up, I want to fight again." Fatgum was astonished. He had never met an honorable lunatic before. Rappa looked down at Kirishima. "...What's his name…?" Fatgum looked down at Kirishima before glaring back at Rappa. "...His name is Red Riot." Rappa smiled again. "Red Riot, huh?" The thug began limping to the door. "He's the manliest hero I've ever met." Fatgum, lowering his guard just a little, smiled as he picked up Kirishima. "...Yea… he sure is…" The four beaten down men managed to drag themselves to the medical wing.

Aizawa leaped back to avoid Dabi's fire. Tamaki covered his skin in clam shells in an attempt to take the hit head on. It didn't go so well, as Tamaki was thrown against the wall. Dabi's blue flames were beginning to melt the walls around the survivors of the raiding party. The lunatic laughed as he readied another assault. "You won't dodge this time!" Aizawa threw his scarf, activating his quirk. The fire Dabi had been preparing suddenly extinguished. The scarf wrapped around Dabi's neck. Aizawa yanked him forward and spun around, kicking the villain directly in the face. Dabi's head slammed into the wall. "...lucky shot…" having suffered too much damage, the Dabi clone disintegrated into ash. Tamaki was impressed by Aizawa's speed and power. "...How are you not in the Top 10…?" Aizawa threw his grey scarf back around his own neck. "Because I don't like the spotlight. Now come on. The others need us." Aizawa and Tamaki ran forward alone while the survivors stayed put to wait for reinforcements.

Overhaul was starting to get annoyed. The two heroes were putting up a much greater fight than he had expected. Then again, they were both incredibly powerful. Nighteye was still throwing seals, but was now aiming for Overhaul's head. Whenever Overhaul would focus on the pro hero, Chris would rush forward and deal some serious damage. If it wasn't for his own ability to destroy and reassemble his damaged arms or legs, he would've already lost. Overhaul glanced at Eri. His eyes narrowed, a plan forming in his head. He whispered to himself. "...divide and conquer…" Overhaul slammed all four hands on the ground. "You two are quick, but can you truly save both yourselves and Eri?" Nighteye instantly sprinted for Eri. Overhaul's attack rippled towards her at high speed. Eri shut her eyes. The pro hero had gotten there first. He grabbed Eri by the arm and threw her as far as he could. Then three concrete spikes shot out of the ground beneath him, piercing through a leg, an arm, and his body. Time seemed to slow down for Chris. Eri, after landing, looked up at Nighteye. Tears formed in her eyes. Nighteye coughed. He was still alive for the moment, but any attempt to move would result in a quicker death. Overhaul looked at the pro hero. Nighteye looked back at Overhaul, then to Chris. The pro hero closed his eyes as tears formed. Chris was already a dead man.

Ryukyu fell to the ground. Despite her incredibly powerful quirk, this giant thug was giving her a run for her money. The giant grabbed her wings and began to pull. Ryukyu screamed in pain. Then a small green object was thrown from somewhere nearby. It went up next to the thug's head and exploded. The thug reeled back in pain, letting go of the Number Nine hero. He looked towards the source. Momo sprinted away, creating another grenade out of her arm. She pulled the pin and threw it. The man raised his guard. He protected himself from the explosion, but the shrapnel still sank into his arms. He growled and charged after Momo. She was quick to evade the downward punch. She then ran into the courtyard connected to the side of the base. Mina was laying down her acid, setting up a trap. Momo looked over her shoulder as the giant chased her. "I just hope this goes according to plan."

Chris was in shock as he watched Nighteye begin coughing up blood. He then turned to Overhaul. The student was completely filled with rage. Overhaul turned to the hero in training. "And then there was one. If you let me take Eri away, I will let you live." Chris got even angrier. Overhaul just shrugged with all four arms. "Oh well. I'll be honest though; after you ran in here and destroyed my base of operations, I wanted to kill you anyways." Chris crouched down. This would take the most amount of power he's ever called upon for Full Cowling yet. He had to defeat Overhaul at any cost. One for All surged through his body. "...I will save them…" Overhaul tilted his head in confusion. Did this kid really think he could still win? "...I'll become a hero…" Green electricity sparked around him, cracking the debris surrounding him. At that moment, Nighteye's question came back to his memory: What kind of hero are you trying to become? "I'll become a hero that saves everyone!" Chris stood upright. "One for All… Full Cowling… 30%!" Chris was a blur now. Overhaul, surprised, barely managed to raise his guard to block the attack. Chris jumped away and darted around the room, firing off incredibly powerful shockwaves with his fingers. Overhaul looked around, trying to track him. "Has he been holding back this entire time?!" Chris gritted his teeth, Using this much power was slowly destroying his body. He could barely move as it was. He had to end this quickly. With all of his might, he jumped up and flipped, landing on the ceiling. From his perspective, he looked up and saw Overhaul all the way down on the floor. The villain glared. Chris jumped down and spun. He wouldn't give his enemy the time to regenerate. He would end this with a single blow to the head. Chris finished his flip and began bringing his foot down in a powerful kick. "Manchester Smash!" Chris's foot came down where Overhaul's head had been and shattered the floor. Chris glared through the smoke. Overhaul looked back at him. Chris was in shock. Had he missed? No. Overhaul had dodged. The villain's hands touched the ground. "You're much faster now, but you're still far too predictable." Blood splattered out of Chris's mouth as a concrete spike pierced through his chest.
