The Whitewind Tree

< Third Person >

The whole packhouse shook as the roars of the alphas filled is entirety.

"What in the hell is happening?!" Aaron roared.

"Our mate better wake up now!" Stephen followed.

"Alphas," Bryce stopped them. "I want you to calm down first. I will tell you everything that I know but please calm down."

The alphas took a deep breath. Not long after, the anger had consumed them once again.

Not only them, but their wolves have also been roaring inside, furious about the current condition of their mate.

Bryce sighed and waved his hand. A rope made of purple glitter appeared and tied the alphas to the bench outside of the hospital. Bryce waved his other hand and a glass container of blue substance appeared. He stepped towards the two screaming men and made them sniff the contents of the bottle.

"What is that?" Margaret walked over to him and growled.

"Duskmite extract with a hint of wolfsbane," Bryce said. The wolves around him growled and took an offensive stance after hearing the deadly substance.

Brandon shielded his mate but Bryce explained, "Only wolfsbane can affect alphas. But don't worry, it's just a very little amount. Just to calm them down."

As he said, his potion was working. The alphas have calmed down, their eyes turning droopy.

"Alphas? Are you calm?" Bryce called out.

When the alphas nodded, he waved his hand, making the bottle and the ropes disappear. "Now, let me tell you everything."

"The pendant from the Luna's necklace had a tracking spell," Bryce started. "Along with it is a spell that harvests the Luna's energy and stores it inside. That's why Olivia always kept in touch."

"To collect Klyde's powers," Aaron answered.

"Yes. Her acts just proved to us more that Luna Klyde is not an ordinary wolf," Bryce said. "Maybe he really is a Moonschild."

"But why didn't he felt the drain before?" Stephen asked.

"The pendant masks itself. He pulls energy from the Luna, stores it, and burns some just so the Luna wouldn't notice. His reception skills must be altered for it to happen," Bryce said.

"If Luna Klyde hadn't noticed it and Olivia collected the powers more, he would've been in danger," Bryce said with worried eyes. "Along with your pups.".

The growl of the alphas made everyone jump in fear. Their auras had been screaming death since earlier on.

Aaron took a deep breath to calm himself down. "When will he wake up?"

"That's the problem," Bryce looked at the hospital door. "He needs to replenish his powers. It had been weeks since Olivia had been harvesting. The exhaustion is keeping him in the line of danger."

"I know something," Alicia said. She was in a wheelchair that was pushed by Christina. "The Whitewind Flower of the Whitewind Tree. It replenishes any energy that has been sucked out by a spell."

"The Whitewind Tree is a very rare tree," Bryce said. "And you need to be worth it for you to see it. It's almost impossible."

"Why?" Aaron inserted.

The two looked at them and explained.

The Whitewind Tree is a legendary tree located in any forest. At dawn, when a desperate soul wants to seek its power, the Whitewind Tree shows itself. It is a tall tree, about a hundred floors tall with leaves as white as a pure soul.

A hole is located on the lower branch of the tree. Here, beautiful white flowers bloom and its extract replenishes stolen energy.

"We'll find it," Aaron said. "We need to save our mate. I don't see another way."

"I could call the other Arch Witches and Warlocks," Bryce offered. "Together, we can at least speed up the Luna's recovery."

Stephen and Aaron shook their heads saying, "If you call on the others, it will tilt the balance that we have been trying to hold for so long."

When Bryce was still lost, Stephen spoke, "We basically don't want to owe the others. They might use it to control us in the future."

"I understand," Bryce nodded.

The morning came and two Alphas slept outside the room their mate was in. Bryce had just walked over to them, informing them that it's time. They looked at the hospital door once more and walked out of the packhouse.

'We will come back with the cure, babe.'

Bryce led them to the forest entrance. "Remember, beg the trees to show you the path. It would take hours, sometimes a day to find the Tree. Just show them that you're desperate."

"Thank you, Bryce," Aaron said.

Bryce shook his head, "My mate wouldn't forgive me if I let something bad happen to his luna and friend."

The two nodded before entering the forest. Aaron couldn't speak to his wolf, Apollo as well as Stephen and Alexander. Their wolves are curling into a corner, whimpering in pain and anger.

'We'll save them, bud,' Aaron said.

A few hours had passed, noon came and their hope was wavering. They have been wandering for hours, begging the trees to show them the path.

"Where is that tree?" Stephen groaned. "I don't want to be away from Klyde anymore."

"Remember, we're doing this for him," Aaron said. "I just wish the Whitewind Tree would finally show up."

A cold gust of wind past them. The bright forest suddenly dimmed, a thick fog appeared from nowhere.

'So, you have sought for the Whitewind Tree," a voice whispered.

"Yes," the alphas chorused.

'But are you worth it?'

"We are!"

'I could sense your conviction…' the voice trailed off. 'Now you have gained the rights to see the Whitewind Tree.'

The fog got thicker for a few seconds before it dispersed. The alphas' eyes widened at what was in front of them.

A large magnificent tree that was covered with white vines.

'Welcome,' a voice said greeted and a woman appeared in front of them. 'Your mate is in grave danger and you must pluck a flower.'

Her skin was pale, her hair silver, and her white gown was flowing into the ground as if she was one with it.

"Yes," Aaron said. "Will you let us?"

The woman nodded, 'Yes. But you must tell me everything about your mate.'
