Chapter 31: Girlfriend

“I thought you were taking me home,” I said uncertain about this sudden escapade.

“Why would you think that? I haven’t spent time with you for three days now so I planned to take you on a surprise date today,” he grinned pulling out two tickets in front of my face, too close for me to take a proper look at it.

Taking it from his hands I saw that it was tickets to a haunted house. As far as I knew there were no carnivals being held right now and even if there was one I couldn’t understand what we were doing at the mall then.

“What are we doing here?” I asked genuinely confused by the abrupt turn of events.

“You might not know this yet but they have renovated one whole floor of this mall to make a haunted house. It hasn’t opened for the public yet but they are letting in a few special people before the official inauguration,” he explained as we got into the elevator.
