Chapter 43: “Anna!”

“Anna!” I shouted again.

I felt breathless even though I hadn’t run around much. My lungs were tightening up as many thoughts spiraled in my head. I had difficulty deciding what to do next as I didn’t even want to think about the possibility of a mishappening.

It has been ten minutes since I can’t find Anna. The open field where we were having our picnic didn’t even have enough hiding spots for her to hide. I had looked everywhere around there and even asked some other families who might have seen her.

Thankfully, an old couple told me that they had seen someone with her description walking along this path. The problem is that this path leads greater into the park towards more dense greenery. I had taken it millions of time before with Alex so I know how difficult it would become to find her if she sauntered in there far too in.

“Anna! Can you hear me? Please come out. I give up, you win.”
