Chapter 12 - Surprise From Ex-Girlfriend

"You already know?" asked Kanya in response to what Zen said.

Zen just shrugged his shoulders. Very indifferent and really don't care. "Anyone, seeing you guys as you are now, would have known, Kanya."

"And are you all right?" asked Kanya again.

"Why should I do anything when I don't have any feelings for you, Kanya?"

Kanya is silent, so is her future husband. Seeing Kanya's expression like that made Zen hold back his smile. Of course Kanya wanted a response from Zen who seemed jealous and didn't accept this news, unfortunately Kanya got the opposite.

After a meeting with Kanya and Roy, her future husband, it turns out to have a bad impact on Zen. Even though his feelings were saying that it was okay, seeing Kanya and Roy's departure made a part of his heart torn a little.

Canned beer as a friend who is always in the refrigerator, he took. He gulped it down until he really managed to get rid of the tiredness in his head. Zen shouldn't feel this, jealousy or anything, because Kanya doesn't even belong to him anymore since he refused to marry him. And Vista... his son, will soon have a new father figure who will certainly be more responsible for him.

Zen's cell phone rang, Dito's name, his best friend called. Zen answered and the crowd from the other side could be heard clearly.

"Hey Zen! Where are you?"

"In the office. What's up, Dit?"

"Can you pick me up at the airport? I just came back from out of town. While I treat you to food and drink, I just won a project," said Dito on the other side.

There are many things that can make Zen smile again. Like now, hearing news from his best friend that he won a project, was treated and would certainly make Zen more comfortable talking.

"Okay, wait there."

No matter how busy Zen is, he will still monitor Daisy. On his way to the airport, Zen contacted Daisy after he asked Tino, his subordinates, to report on Daisy's progress since she was not with Zen.

"What's up, Zen?" Daisy asked as a greeting.

"You are okay?"

"Yeah. Why don't you just ask Tino? He's definitely in front of my house!"

Zen smiled. Daisy apparently didn't know that Zen had just contacted Tino to ask about her. "I just want to hear your voice directly," Zen replied.

"Oh, flirting, huh? It's okay, I'm working on an assignment!"

Daisy turned off Zen's call unilaterally. Actually Zen was angry, but he let it go and would punish Daisy after he met her. After all, tonight Zen would take Daisy back to his apartment.

After picking up Dito, they left the airport and went to an expensive Japanese-style restaurant that Dito was looking for. Zen even told Dito, who was driving the car, to go there.

"How are you doing with Daisy?" asked Dito curiously.

"Well, it's okay. She's still stubborn and annoying sometimes."

"You won't give up, will you?" Ask Dito.

"No. Now that her anger has subsided, I'm sure she'll fall in love with me soon enough."

Dito patted Zen's shoulder. Give him encouragement and motivate him to fight even more. "To get diamonds, you have to work really hard, don't you?"

Zen nodded. But of course his mind was disturbed by something about Kanya. Dito knew that Zen was thinking about something, so when he asked, Zen gave an answer as detailed as possible.

"That's good news, Zen, you don't have to bother to dodge anymore, except when it's about the children," Dito responded.

"Part of me is still not willing, Dit, if Kanya will marry another man. Even though it seemed like I was fine."

"Ckckckck, don't be a coward! Just leave her with his choice and you with yours! Would you want Kanya to feel the same if she knew you wanted to marry other girl?"

Zen shook his head. In his dead mind, he just realized it. Kanya doesn't feel it, because she doesn't know yet that Zen has a new girl he's hiding for his future.

"I never thought like that. you are the best friend, thank you, Dit" said Zen.

Dito gave a distinctive grin with his fist clenched on his left chest.

The night wind that penetrated to the bone was enough to make Zen cold. He had to pick up Daisy to take her back to his apartment. Daisy's presence really made Zen miss her so much, even though he knew Daisy wouldn't take it for granted.

"Here, take it for you," Zen said as they arrived at the apartment.

Daisy looked at the groceries that Zen had brought to his apartment. She saw several bags which were quite a lot for Daisy to count.

"What is this?" asked Daisy, who didn't want to open it.

"Clothes, books, and a few things you need. Get them. I bought them for you." Zen's tone was so intimate and commanding.

"I don't want to. I didn't ask anyway," said Daisy.

"Just take it!" Zen threatens Daisy to lock her body against the wall. Staring at her so seriously and Daisy's breath caught.

The two of them looked at each other intimately. Zen didn't leave Daisy's face, while the way Daisy looked at Zen seemed to ask for a kiss. So tempting and made Zen gulp his saliva.

Slowly, without resistance, Zen pursed his lips. Landing his lips on Daisy's lips, he kissed her until he kissed Daisy's mouth softly. Surprised by Daisy's response, Zen then bit Daisy's lips brutally.

Fifteen minutes like that, Zen finally stopped himself. If he went too far, Daisy would surely be disappointed and cry. Zen wasn't ready to make love to a woman who didn't even want he to be inside her.

"Take it to your room, then prepare dinner, I'm going to take a shower," Zen ordered then left Daisy just like that to his room.

Anxiety for sure. Zen didn't take a shower immediately but paced back and forth in his room because he had just kissed Daisy. Daisy's response had clearly taken his by surprise. Daisy seemed to have liked the kiss, or indeed she had been waiting for it for a long time since they were together.

"Huh! After kissing him casually, how could he leave me like this! That sucks!" Daisy's grunts echoed through Zen's room. Zen then eavesdropped on his bedroom door to hear more clearly what Daisy was going to say next.

"Ouch, what's wrong with me too, how can I just want to be kissed? In fact, I'm even responding to it again. Gosh! Why am I here?"

"Wait! Does that mean I'm starting to like him? Why should I like him anyway? Ahb... why is it like this, anyway? I should have refused to be kissed, not reciprocated or even enjoyed. You idiot, Daisy!"

Zen cracked a smile. Hearing the way Daisy scorned herself was definitely very funny and adorable. Especially after hearing how Daisy questioned herself whether she was starting to like Zen or not. Well, at least there's a glimmer of hope and feeling for Zen from Daisy. Now it's just a matter of how Zen cultivates it further and makes Daisy fall in love over and over again.
