Chapter 14 - Ex-Boyfriend's Daisy

"Report anything to me. Watch her with your eyes, don't get hurt. Got it?" Zen orders his five men to guard Daisy against Reza.

They all nodded in understanding and then dispersed to their respective places.

"Zen, isn't it exaggerating? I'm fine. Besides, it's only natural for Reza to be like that, isn't it?"

"What kind of nature is it to scare you like yesterday? Huh?" Zen's annoyed tone sounded so clear that it made Daisy silent and didn't want to reply to Zen's words. She will comply if it is best for him.

Until college, Zen was always waiting for Daisy to disappear to her class. After that is the task of his men. Because the sound tracker will not work for Daisy's safety.

Daisy collides with Reza. It's no longer a coincidence, Reza certainly did it on purpose. Here Daisy was already alert. She became so aware of Reza's true vengeful nature as seen yesterday.

Daisy's hands remained inside her jacket. She gripped ground pepper in a bottle she had made herself just in case something happened to her.

"Sorry, ex-girlfriend," said Reza mockingly. His tone was so cynical, it made some of Reza's friends who also know Daisy laugh.

"Well, OK," replied Daisy with a shrug, nonchalant and cold. She then passed Reza and his friends, then sat in her chair, next to Ama.

It felt like Daisy wanted to punch Reza in the face. But she refrained from looking normal. Zen simply gave her some lessons indirectly. Silence doesn't mean defeat. Silence doesn't mean weak. And silence doesn't mean you don't dare. Daisy was just waiting for the right moment, as she mustered up her courage in self-defense.

Misfortune does seem to befall Daisy. She had to study in groups with Reza. The random lottery held by the lecturers certainly made all students, not like it and couldn't protest. But luckily, Ama was with her, so Daisy wasn't alone there.

"So this is a poem about love. You have to contribute one verse at a time. Since there are five of you, it's one person in one stanza. Do you understand?" the lecturer ordered when the group division was finished.

Others cheered and some were happy. Daisy herself doesn't like to write poetry about love. Especially when she has to be in a group with her ex-boyfriend.

"Come on, guys! It's just me who is the chairman, I'm sure. Because I'm sure that among all of you, no one wants to be the chairman!" Ama said starting the conversation.

Daisy and Reza were silent. Then two other friends, Sasa and Novan, also went along.

When Ama finished the first stanza, she channeled it to Daisy to continue. Then go to Novan, Sasa, and finally Reza. Yes, it was Ama herself who decided that Reza should be the one in the end. Because Ama knows Daisy's conflict and problems with Reza.

After an hour and half-finished writing the poem, it was quite complicated but in the end, it was perfectly mixed. The lecturer also gave a relief that the assignment could be done at home in groups, but when it was finished, it could be collected earlier and would be read out next week.

Daisy breathed a sigh of relief. She walked with Ama to the cafeteria to have lunch there. "Thank you, Ma, you know best about this matter," said Daisy.

"Relax. Luckily everyone obeyed me."

Daisy could only smile while enjoying her sweet iced tea. Then she felt someone watching her. Sure enough, it was Reza who seemed to be watching her from a distance. Sitting with his friends.

Honestly, Daisy can feel the sharpness of Reza's gaze plus the charm of Reza's good looks. After all, Daisy had been with him. The last kiss was still felt even a little because the last Daisy's lips had been touched by Zen's.

"That Reza huh, isn't there anything else besides paying attention to you, huh?" asked Ama who seemed to be watching them.

"I don't know. Try it, you find him a girlfriend," said Daisy originally.

"You're crazy! Not even close, that's weird if I suddenly found him a girlfriend. Tsk!"

Daisy laughed while ignoring Reza's gaze. She was ready with the ground pepper she always carried with her everywhere. "Is Fira not chase him anymore?" Daisy asked curiously.

"I don't know. Not much about it yet. It's just that you know that she still likes Reza, right."

Daisy nodded in understanding.

"You're not jealous?" asked Ama.

"A little bit, but never mind, I don't think I deserve him either."

"Hmm... so, you're admitting that now you're worthy and compatible with Zen?" Ama teased, rolling her eyes.

Daisy's face suddenly turned blushed, but she didn't know it. Thinking about Ama's words made her hesitate. Her heart and feelings don't know whether she likes Zen or not. But with Zen, she had to admit, she felt comfortable.

"What the hell, Ama! It's normal, I thought," Daisy avoided shyly.

"You should see that your face is blushing now! Hahaha!"

Zen smiled at Daisy's conversation. He was amazed and suddenly his stomach was filled with something flying. Makes him passionate enough to work.

A knock on the door broke Zen's thoughts, he ordered the person knocking on his door to come in. It turned out to be Dera. Her clothes are now very closed, but still tight, clearly printing certain parts of her body. Zen tried to put on an expression as professional as possible.

"Zen..."

"Please, be professional, Dera," said Zen cutting Dera off.

Dera cleared her throat and handed the document she had brought to Zen. "Please sign here, sir."

Zen reached for the document, reading it first before signing it. He was very careful not to make a mistake. When finished, Zen gave the document back. He thought he was done, but Dera didn't move from his place.

"What is it?" Zen asked.

"Tonight, at my apartment restaurant, seven o'clock. Is that possible?"

"What is the event?"

"I want to say something."

Zen didn't answer. Instead, he focused on the sheet of paper he was holding.

"It doesn't matter if you don't answer now. I'll wait for your answer later at night," said Dera and left Zen.

Zen closed his eyes and sighed. What else will he face tonight? Come or not, Zen was more curious about what Dera wanted to say.

The night came. Zen paced back and forth in his room, undecided whether to come or not. Then suddenly there was a knock on the door, it was Daisy's voice telling him to dinner. Finally Zen shook his head quickly. He had already made up his mind that he wasn't coming and didn't want anything to do with Dera other than work.

"What are you cooking?" Zen asked a little more involved in speaking so that his mind wouldn't go to Dera.

"Chicken soup, stir-fried tempe with soy sauce and fried flour chicken's skin," said Daisy, which seemed to make Zen more hungry than just filling his stomach
