Chapter 23 - Daisy Mad At Zen

When the sun's heat begins to intensify and burning the skin, Zen's cell phone rings. He glanced at the name on the screen, his father called him. His brows furrowed because Gerald didn't usually contact him.

When he arrived at the office, Zen answered the call from Gerald. Instantly his hands clenched and his face showed seriousness hearing Gerald speak from the other side. The employees who greeted him have ignored him because he focused on what Gerald said.

"He said so?" asked Zen furiously.

"I can only say, you better hurry your wedding," advised Gerald.

"So if I speed up, can he stop? No, Dad. Let him do what he thinks is easy. I know what I have to do next. And thanks for the info."

"Well, you know what to do. I hang up."

After talking to Gerald, Zen was still gloomy. His face was really angry and he immediately turned on Daisy's tap. At least so far that was all he could do, apart from ordering his men to look after Daisy.

Zen's anxiety did not fade after Gerald's information. He is more silent than working, even though his job as CEO does not require him to work, Zen must still be professional.

His worried face disappeared in an instant when Zen saw Daisy in front of him. Seeing her calmed him down. Because in front of her is his future wife whom he loves. But Zen didn't know why Daisy was here and even Zen didn't hear anything from the tap.

"What's wrong, Daisy?" asked Zen then.

"I'm bored ... is it okay if I come here?"

Zen looked at Daisy's modest appearance who was wearing an old-school casual dress. "Yeah, that's fine. I'll be done in a minute too, we can go where you want."

"Hmm ... if I may, can I meet Ama?" asked Daisy hesitantly.

Hearing that made Zen a little anxious. He really can't keep Daisy locked up all the time. But he also didn't want Devan to take advantage of the plan.

"Can I believe you or not? If you meet Devan, please tell me immediately. Oh, no ... I'll tell Tino to be your bodyguard," said Zen firmly.

Daisy was silent but she nodded fully, whatever Zen wanted. "It's up to you, I just need a little more difference that is with my friend."

Zen gave a full nod and contacted Tino to follow Daisy wherever she wanted to go, as well as give him a report.

"Remember, Daisy … don't-"

"Don't mess around because you can know what I'm doing? OK, noted! I just want to meet Ama, really," continued Daisy, memorizing the dialogue that Zen often said.

The next day Zen settled in the apartment. He wasn't in his office and wanted to be by Daisy's side. Yesterday also all was well, no bad reports. This means that Devan is not around Daisy. But Zen also will not stay silent if Devan is desperate to meet Daisy.

"Do you want to come to my house? I want to deliver the basic ingredients for Mom," Daisy asked Zen.

"OK. I'll get ready first."

It didn't take long for them to get ready, they were already in the car and headed for Weiske's house. But Zen missed his cellphone which he had to take first. Inevitably he had to leave Daisy for a while in his car.

After picking up her cell phone and getting back into the car, luckily Daisy was still inside. Zen was already anxious enough, afraid that Daisy wasn't in the car.

Unfortunately when he was about to walk, again there was an obstacle in front of his eyes. Zen didn't expect Kanya to be in front of him. Zen turned to Daisy who asked who the woman in front of them was. But Zen went straight down and faced Daisy.

"Kanya ... what is this? Why did you suddenly appear?" Zen asked quietly but with emphasis.

"I just wanted to give you this invitation, and-"

Suddenly Kanya saw Daisy who was glued there listening to them. Reflexively, Zen also turned his head.

"Hi, you must be Daisy, I'm Kanya ... Zen's ex-girlfriend," Kanya said introducing herself.

Zen closed his eyes in annoyance. Mentioning the title of ex-girlfriend in front of Daisy was the worst idea. What's done is done. Zen immediately grabbed the invitation and directed Daisy to get back into his car.

At first glance, Daisy just smiled nodding, even though her heart and mind felt strange.

"Next time, don't come like this!" Zen informed.

"Oh ... so Daisy doesn't know about me yet? Sorry, I didn't mean-" Before she could finish speaking, Zen had already left Kanya and left his apartment.

No one knows Daisy's silence. After meeting Kanya, of course, Daisy wanted to ask Zen, but Daisy thought it would be more complicated and cause a fight later.

"That was-"

"You don't need to explain if you're not ready, Zen. He's your ex, I know. But behind the word ex, I just don't know," said Daisy without turning to Zen.

It's OK, Daisy's eyes are already teary. She thought back to Zen's secret of having a child from his ex-girlfriend. She thought that this woman was the one he meant. Daisy's heart suddenly hurt.

"I'm trying to explain, Daisy. Aren't you going to listen to one bit?"

Daisy shook her head. She couldn't believe Zen's explanation later. What explanation looks honest while traveling in a car like this?

"Can I put it down? Let me go to Mom's house alone. You don't have to come," Daisy asked holding back her sobs.

"No, Daisy-"

"Or I'll just jump out of the car," threatened Daisy, starting to grab the door opener.

Zen cursed in annoyance and finally, he pulled over. Daisy immediately came out with a package for Weiske, while Zen came out and moved quickly.

"Come on, come in! I'll tell you everything when you get home," Zen ordered.

"No. I don't want to hear anything from you anymore. You save it until you don't get emotional like this," said Daisy with her hair flowing.

"Daisy-" Before Zen could finish, suddenly a car stopped in front of them.

The car's windshield opened automatically, revealing Devan's face looking at Daisy and Zen. He immediately got down and headed for them.

"Devan, can you take me to my Mom's house?" Daisy asked without hesitation. Zen clenched his fists looking at Devan, he gave a code to Devan to refuse Daisy's offer. But unfortunately, Devan ignored him with a meaningful smile.

"Yes, Daisy. Come on, let me take you," said Devan and opened the passenger door for Daisy.

Daisy stared at Zen for a moment. Her tears had fallen, and Daisy left Zen for Devan's car. Meanwhile, Zen just kept quiet and cursed when Devan's car had moved away from him.
