Chapter 29 - The Wedding Ceremony

Daisy looked at Devan with teary eyes. Somehow she felt the pain that Devan felt. But sadly none of this is Zen's fault. It is time that brings together and makes two people have the feelings. But once again, Daisy felt herself to blame.

"Ow!" Daisy's groans of pain forced her to sit back down. Devan looked at her with a worried look even though he was feeling sad earlier.

"Daisy... sorry, I-"

"Get out of the way! Come on, Daisy." Zen showed up just in time so he immediately carried Daisy to his car. Everyone looked at them as if they were showing some drama. Devan was silent for a moment and he chose to leave the place and return to his apartment.

Zen looked at Daisy who was lying weakly on her bed. This time he didn't take Daisy to the hospital but instead called a doctor to check on Daisy's condition. Daisy's weakening condition makes him really reluctant to allow Daisy to leave the apartment if she is to meet Devan.

"You should really take care of Mrs. Daisy, Mr. Zen. I am worried that if something like this happens again, the possibility of miscarriage will occur. Because it is a pity, Mrs. Daisy has quite a history of severe stress if something happens to her," explained Dr. Erwin.

Only a nod of Zen's head was the response to the end of their conversation. Zen didn't want to hear any worse that made him feel the stress too.

Zen let Daisy fall asleep while he sat pensively in the living room. The television was on but he saw nothing to entertain the eyes. He thought of the best way so that Daisy wouldn't have to go out again to meet Devan.

Damn! Zen thought. He immediately grabbed his leather jacket, got out of the apartment and locked it, then headed for Devan's house, more precisely, his Father's house, for the first time he visited.

The sound of the bell that Zen had pressed many times finally opened. He knew it was very inappropriate to visit someone's house at night like this. And now, the figure of a woman who may be of the same age as Neva, who is none other than his Father's second wife, aka Devan's Mother, standing in front of him in her nightgown.

"Oh, hello... Zen? What... how are you?" greeted Felly, the name of Gerald's second wife. Her tone sounded doubtful because indeed Zen had never been to Gerald's house once.

"Is Devan here?" asked Zen without answering Felly's greeting.

"Devan it's probably in his apartment. If you can't see his car at this hour, he usually goes back to his apartment," Felly answered clearly with occasional glances at the car park.

Zen immediately left Gerald's house without permission and he headed for Devan's apartment. There's no need to ask for his address because he does know where Devan lives if he wants to be alone.

There was a commotion inside Devan's apartment when Zen was at the door. He hesitated to knock on the door because Devan certainly wouldn't hear it. Zen finally waited for a while because he thought Devan was making a mess to cheer his heart up. He was quite familiar with his Father's stepson.

Two hours, a long time, but in the end, the door opened and revealed three women who were accompanying Devan to the door of his apartment.

"Bye, darling!" teased the three women and left Devan's apartment.

Zen immediately grabbed the collar of Devan's unbuttoned shirt, pushing him inside. Then he hit Devan hard.

BUKKK!!!

Several times Zen slams into Devan's face and body until the man bleeds at least a little. After Zen feel satisfied, he then stopped and took a deep breath.

"This is your last warning! You'll be sorry if you bother Daisy one more time, bastard!" threatened Zen then went out and closed Devan's apartment door with a bang.

The day of happiness has arrived. Zen had never felt moved like this to see Daisy in a wedding dress. Walked up to Zen with a dazzling face despite still looking so weak.

After saying the promise to each other, Zen officially kissed Daisy's lips which were parted with rosy lipstick color. Daisy didn't refuse, she even returned Zen's kiss so intensely.

The party after the inauguration of the wedding took place. Some dance to the rhythm of the song, deliver meaningful speeches, and end with casual conversations with each other.

Daisy glanced briefly at the main door where Devan came in such formal attire. For a moment she signaled to Zen who she saw. Zen's jaw clenched as soon as he saw Devan, but Daisy wanted Zen to give her a second.

"Just here, don't leave the building," Zen whispered. Daisy nodded obediently and walked gracefully towards Devan.

"Wow! Amazing!" said Devan smiling at Daisy.

"Thank you. You look... cool?" said Daisy who seemed hesitant to judge him. She stared at Devan's face for a while, which was still scarred from Zen's blow a few weeks ago. Zen did tell Daisy about it and Daisy was quite angry at first that Zen had gone too far.

"You... look at me like I'm your groom-to-be," Devan said in a heavy tone.

"Devan, don't start. Zen will get mad if he hears."

"I'm kidding, Daisy. Life doesn't have to be taken too seriously, does it?"

"Hmm... you missed the ceremony," Daisy said diverting.

"No one who is hurt wants to see the process of the wedding ceremony of the person he likes, Daisy," Devan replied with a sigh.

Daisy shows compassion but it's not what it seems. She only cared so much about Devan. "Come on, Devan. Don't. Please." Daisy knows that Devan does have feelings for her, but that doesn't mean Daisy won't allow Devan to admit it. Only, Daisy asked Devan to reduce the way he expressed it.

"Can I get a hug?" he asked as he spread his hands.

Without thinking, Daisy fell into Devan's arms. Warm, she thought. It was as warm as when he hugged Zen.

"You know, Daisy, I'll always be there for you. Anytime," Devan whispered which sounded very inviting for her to come whenever she wanted.

Only Daisy's muttering ended the hug until Zen came closer and cleared her throat.

"I think your time is up with her," Zen said.

Daisy pulled away from Devan and backed towards Zen. She smiled weakly at Devan for the warmth she felt.

"Relax, Zen. I just wanted to say congratulation. And well, enjoy the meal here. There's got to be some beer, right? Bye now!" Devan stepped away from Zen and Daisy who was looking at him walked towards the drinks section until Zen looked at Daisy with his sharp eyes.

"You weren't fascinated, were you?" Zen asked.

Daisy rolled her eyes annoyed at Zen's jealousy and finally chose not to answer and turned to join some of her friends who had come.
