Chapter  5 - Good vs. Bad

After their little adventure in the elf village the team heads out to nozomu. Naomi seems to have changed her outfit to a more comfortable than the one from before & Variys can't help but to notice the open the open space on her dress since it show some of her cleavage . As he is staring at her chest she caught him red-handed and asks if he likes what she's wearing . he reply blushing telling tells her that doesn't care about what she wears as long as it doesn't interfere with her combat skills . She stare that she doesn't need to worry about combat because he will be there to protect her isn't that right . He turns his back telling her that this is true but still … Cana notice the Sword That was giving to him by the elf King and she tells him That it suits him well . He explain that he didn't want it at first but the king insisted , talking about how he might need it in the near future or something like that , plus it looked cool so he couldn't help it. " But Variys sama why are we heading back to nozomu " asked him Naomi . " We need a place to stay and like i said I'm not planning on staying on a hotel room for ever so we need money ... A lot of it "

as variys is amble in the deep forest with the girls next to him his attention gets shifted crow staring at him . He can't Help but to feel uncomfortable , the feeling That something bad gonna happen , Celestine asks him What's wrong and he smiles assuring her that it's nothing .

but his instinct was right because to their unawares , a man is stalking them behind the trees enough to not be noticed. same one That the Queen have sent to take down variys .

" Found you ... ! " He said as he's lurking behind them "

Later That day few hours far from nozomu , they decide to make a quick after Celestine was feeling tired & needed some rest . as they do cana tells variys That she has to go and take Care of some business

" Business ?? " He wondered

" You know .... That .. " she said while blushing

" That !? .... What are you talking about ... "

She blushes while holding her thighs .

Variys looks at her and Wonder what she means

" Variys sama .. " Calls for him Naomi As she Gets Closer and Whispers " ........... "

He blushes so much his whole face becomes red ...

Cana goes off running inside the forest .

'' you need to start Reading between the lines ... variys kun'' said Naomi

'' well … sometimes it's hard to understand you woman, you always have to speak in codes … '' he replied

'' is that so , well if you wish I can teach you a thing or two about how to act with a woman '' she said in an erotic manner while getting closer to him yet he immediately backs off blushing '' wha… what is the matter with you all of a sudden , why you always feel the need to say such weird things … ''

'' I's because I enjoy the face you make each time you get uncomfortable, I can't help to , … ''

'' sister . please stop teasing variys sama '' said Celestine with a jealous expression drawn on her face .

As they are heaving their little chat a screaming Could be Heard from the forest , the voice seemed quite similar to cana's thus making everyone turned around calling her name

"CANA "

" It's seems it Comes from That way " said Celestine & They all run to Where the shouting came from .

As variys is running he Wonders what the Hell Could it be .

They reach the spot here the shout came from only to see Cana being held down hostage by the man who has being following them .... He's holding Cana Captive, choking her with an arm-lock and holding a long golden sword in another ....

" Who the hell are ... !! " Shout variys in anger as he steps forward.

" I don't advice you of That " replied the men in a calm manner .

" One false move and this Bunny girl loses her ear " he said with a creepy smiles as he faced his sword towards Cana's Ear

" Variys sama ... " She Calls for him as tears Comes down her face .

" What the Hell do you want Money ... We don't have much so just let her go " said Naomi

" Money .... Hhuhuhuh i Can give shit about That " he said

" Then what are you After " said variys

The Man stops smiling and stares with dead look on his face as he hoists his Sword to Towards him replying with " Your Head !! "

suddenly light aura start coming from his weapon

" That's .... Variys sama Watch out !!! …" Shouts Celestine

" Die " said the men in the armor as a huge beam of light blast from his Sword going straight to variys, but he react quickly enough by pulling his Sword and countering his attack .

" Iiiiih . You have a light Sword .... Interesting "

As variys takes a breath he looks at his Sword for a brief moment ' if it wasn't for this light Sword i would've been in big trouble . It seems That Damar saved my life this Time ' he thought to himself

" Naomi one sama .... Can this be .... ?? " said Celestine

" yeah ... I didn't want to believe it at first , but now I'm sure * she replied

" Huuh what are you too mumbling about " Said variys .

" variys sama . That Sword is the Excalibur. It's a sword That belonged to a great hero named William Kaito but he disappeared few months before you came " .

" Excalibur you say ..! " He turn to the men in the armor

" I'm gonna ask Again who the hell are you ? .. and how did you get That Sword . Where is the hero !? "

" Ahhh That hero .... He died long Time ago " said the man with a straight face

" What " " Impossible ?? " said Celestine

" it's not a lie ... You all know the story . a hero shows up to fight the demons , he saves the kingdom and everyone lives happily ever After . "

He then looks at them with a creepy face .

" What do you Think happen when the hero loses to the villain. Ever thought about That "

" let me guess , He joins him or die .... " Said variys in a low Voice as he caught on to the situation

" ding ding ding ..... That's right ahahahahah not Bad not Bad at all. "

" what . What do you mean variys san " asked him Naomi .

" he didn't kill the hero … the hero didn't die …. You are that hero am i right "

" that's not possible " said Celestine in shock & denial

" Aaaaaoh too Bad i wanted to keep the joke for a while. . But i Guess play Time is over . Your right, i used to be the hero but After defeating many demons i thought it Was Time for me to face head on with the Demon Lord and That's when she showed me ... "

" She showed me what true power looks like , i Lost almost immediately and That's when i knew .... Hero ... Friend power ... That's bullshit , power is power, and That why i decided to join her . The moment i did i felt relieved , unchained , unmatched , Like I'm in control of my own Destiny .. I owe everything to her and when she asked me To Bring her your Head i felt honored ... "

" Enough with the talking . Throw away your Sword " said William as he put the Sword on Cana's neck .

" You ... Bastard " Said variys in anger

" I'm not gonna ask Again you know . Or maybe you don't Care about this young girl's life " he said while cutting her neck enough to make her bleed just little bit & mess with variy's nerves .

" Cana " screams Celestine and Naomi .

" fine i will do it , just calm down … "

the tension just reached the top

' shit this is Bad ... This is the worst case scenario ... I'm up against a hero and I'm about to throw my only leverage against him ... If only i had more Weapons ....if only i knew effective spells That are convenient in this situation ...

Damn it .... Is this is it .... I'm i gonna lose here... Just when i started to get the hang of it . But at least Cana will be safe . So the Hell with it ...' As he thinks That he take on more glance at Cana and he notice that she's reaching for her pockets .

she pulls something out unhurriedly so that William doesn't act but enough for variys to see it ...

' So That's how .... Way to go Cana . it seems you are a smart girl After all ... Now we have a chance ... Now ...'

Variys looks at Cana one last Time as she looks at him back nodding her head .

He then throws his Sword on the side and as soon as William Eye Sight shift for the sword he doesn't pay attention to cana and drops his guard for a second but that was all they needed& without hesitation Cana pulls out the white crystal hastily , same one as the trader had back at the valley when they fought .

"That's !!! " Said Celestine with a surprised look on her face .

' She had That all along and she Was waiting for an opening to use it ' thought Naomi to herself

" Angel burst !!! " Shouts Cana

Just As William sees the crystal shines .

" you damn filthy !!! ... "

He pushes Himself off Cana enough for her to falls back on her back and the blasts shoots up to the sky missing William ..

He looks down at her while she's on the ground and laughs hysterically

" Hahah like That would ever work on me ... Don't you dare underestimate me young lady . Because you will pay with your life if you do so . " he said as he lift his sword to make fatal hit .

She looks at him and smirks

" That wasn't meant to kill you Stupid , it was meant to distract you ... You are the one That underestimate us "

" Us ... ?? " suddenly he Hears " Thunder bolt !! "

He then looks up to see Bleu lightning bolt coming his way . Variys just made his first attack . " I told you don't underestimate me you bastards !!! " shouts William as He quickly change his Sword position & swing it on top his shoulder to block the lightning but the impact was to strong and too fast for him to counterattack all of it ....

" ooaaaaaaaaaaaaah !! " He screamed as he was trying to block That lightning bolt but it Was too Powerful for him & too sudden for him thus sending him flying back into a giant tree , crashing into it . And as he quickly stand UP and swings his huge Excalibur to see through the dust . only to catch sight of a scary demon figure with Violet shining eyes and red aura standing right before him . it was variys Coming out from the dust screen with a scary look on his face . His expression was to horrifying for William to keep calm As he thinks to Himself

' this guys ..... He is ... He is not an ordinary demon . He….. Heee ... No there Can Only be one . the all Powerful , it's her .... '

And he grips his Sword with both his hands to maximum power and swings it with all his might

" screw you .... !! "

" HOLY RA... !! " but before he Can even Finish his spell he's hit with a white blast by Cana from a side . it wasn't that Powerful to knock him aside. But enough to make him lose his focus and therefor the spell was undone .

" Youuuuuu….. * he shouts in anger vixen by her interference but before he could address her Variys grabs his mouth and shush him up . " You Will Regret Hurting my subordinates " he said in perniciousness

William tries his best to break variys grip but to no avail so he decide to just swing his sword towards variys for a cut & hope for the best but before he could even do so , all he could hear was variys chanting

" Fire Dragon Wraith !! "

Followed by a huge boom in middle of the forest . The dust fills the spot Where they were standing making it impossible to see what just happened.

Seconds later After the explosion , Celestine Shouts for variys as she Head toward the spot where they were both standing . She sees a shadow of a man heading toward her and she stops thinking That the fight wasn't over yet . But it was no other than Variys Coming out the smoke victorious . He smiles to comfort her but as soon as he makes another step , he felt drowsy & extremely warn out thus drooping on the ground semi-unconscious .

" Variys samaaaaa "

" Variys sama "

" Variys kun " He hear the girls calling for him as he passes out .

[ Jigoku Castle ]

William is on his knees as he's faced with the Queen .Valerya Ishigar

" Since you are here it can only mean one of two things . either you killed That imposter who claims to be the Demon Lord or you got defeated . "she said looking down to him as he lowers his Head from humiliation .

" And since i don't see a dead body it means ... " but before she could Finish her sentence . William interrupt her stating in fear .

" I'm terribly sorry my Queen .... Please forgive me ... Please give me another chance ".

" You know i hate those words forgiveness . Another chance . mercy.... " She said in a calm Voice

" Well i can't Say i wasn't impressed with the way he defeated you ... It seems we have both underestimated him gravely , perhaps this should come as a great lesson to you … although I gave you more power , you still don't know how to use it "

William grin and tighten his fist ....

" I understand your angry ... And That's why I'm giving you another chance ... " she said

He looks up happy but as he do so he notice that she is having a scary angry look on her face and he immediately froze

" But…. if you Failed me Again i have no problem making you one of them ... "

She looks to her side and so does he to see strange faces on the walls of that room

The wall that was shaped with Statues of People with scary cold expression on their faces .As if they were screaming in despair & agony in their last moment.

He start sweating from fear And she tells him not to worry . to insure That he doesn't fail again this time , she arranged some Help . suddenly He hears foot Steps coming behind him . 3 knights in black pitch Armors appears without making any statements & Their red crimson eyes were the only thing visible about them.

As they step forward they bend the knee and bow down to her .

" Go . Bring Me His Head . I Won't accept another failure , do don't Come back until you kill That Demon. Understood ! "

Still without replying , they bump their fists against their chest making a salute before standing up again and leaving William to take the lead on their next hunt as they all head out .
