An intruder..

When the ten people who got selected came to a small conference hall, a total of five people panel was ready for them. All the candidates wished them. They were excited yet nervous. They have come for the final round indicating that they were all capable people.

But only one out of ten people can get the job. Everyone except Mrs. Parker was overly enthusiastic after all who wouldn't? This is a highly paid job and also the chance of working with Mr. Carter is itself a golden opportunity.

The interviewers took in all their actions. They smiled lightly. They were also waiting to see the most perfect candidate among them. They did not know who wrote the answers which impressed them. But he/she has to pass this round with flying colors to get selected.

Noah just glanced at them and when his eyes landed on Mrs. Parker and his eyes brightened.

'Was she not the sexy... ahem beautiful lady he saw in the morning?' seeing him like this Ms. Everson felt embarrassed for him. She stamped on his foot with her … little strength. But he winced in pain. The power of high heels!! She coughed and introduced herself and others.

"Well today you have to complete a task we give you within two hours. That is by seven o' clock sharp your task has to end. This is a group task. Each group has five members. Your task details are in the file given to you." She distributed the files with information to them.

There were a total of four women including Mrs. Parker in the finalists. The rest were men. When the time came to divide into two groups Mrs. Parker got another headache. All men wanted to be in her group, embarrassing her.

For god sake! Where are you? What have you come here for? Is this the time to be lecherous? We are all competitors here!! What are you clamoring for?

At last each group divided with two women and three men in it. The men in Mrs. Parker's group looked at the other men triumphantly.

The group task began amid all these stupid disturbances.

The task was related to data collection and analyzing reports. This was understood because the CEO can't read each and every line of all the reports. Sometimes he has to depend on his secretary.

But the problem is the hint to this task was given to them by the man who came to them in the meeting hall in the afternoon before the artist's fiasco.

Mrs. Parker listened to everything carefully so their group did the job completely. She took the in charge to divide the task and under her leadership the task went on pretty smoothly. Whereas the other group could only do half the task. They could not complete it because of incomplete instructions or so they thought. All the interviewers observed how Mrs. Parker handled the job and were pretty satisfied with the result.

So the result was decided. Mrs. Parker answered their questions perfectly. She was not easily wavered with looks at least for now. She has attentiveness and she is meticulous and lastly she has good leadership qualities.

Mrs. Parker is the perfect candidate they have been searching for!!

So Mrs. Parker finally became the new secretary of Owen Carter.

..............................................

THE SAME NIGHT:

A silhouette can be seen entering the Carter's Enterprises in the middle of the night. Without alerting the security the person swapped an employee ID and entered the building. He did not take the elevator.

He avoided all the security cameras as if he was used to do this and reached the floor below the CEO's office via steps. He opened the window and jumped out. Any person who sees this will have a heart attack. Because the floor from which he jumped out is the 37th floor.

His body was attached with some padded material which assisted him in sticking to the building. He climbed up to the window of 38th floor like a lizard and cut the glass window easily as if it was sponge. He jumped into the corridor soundlessly.

(Well why be a lizard in the middle of the night? Why the fuss when he could have directly gone to the 38th floor? Because.... the Ceo's office is equipped with many traps and even the door at the stairs was provided with a biometric lock system. Only a handful of people have the access to the 38th floor.)

He reached the special security room and deleted his entry into the building at the entrance in the records. Now is the time for his mission.

He reached the door to the CEO's office. He opened the door and to his surprise the door was open. He became vigilant immediately. When he entered the office he was shocked to see Owen Carter in the balcony. He immediately hid in the shadows. He was thankful that the lights were off in the office.

Also because Owen Carter was in the balcony and not in the office he got time to act.

But what was this person doing so late in the night? Will he not sleep at all? He was a little frustrated. Now other than waiting he could do nothing. If he wants he could go all out and fight him but that was not the purpose of his visit. He had to get what he wants. He stabilized his breathing and lowered his presence as much as possible.

Owen was smoking while thinking deeply in the balcony. He stood there for a long time until the cigarette burnt his hand. He discarded the stub and sighed. He was as usual unable to sleep. He ran his fingers through his hair frustratedly.

His already handsome face became even more enchanting when he messed up his hair.

He had thrown his tie aside. His collar was open and the top two buttons on his shirt were open. He rolled up his sleeves up to his elbow. With his messed up look he looked manly tonight. Too bad there was not a single 'fanatic' to look at this picture.

Owen's mood was messed up. He hated that day. The past eight years have been suffocating for him.

His life changed on that fateful night eight years ago on the same date. He closed his eyes tightly while every memory kept popping in his mind. He wanted to block his mind to all these thoughts. He wanted to forget everything.

He wanted to forget who he was... Forget that night. Forget the truth... He tried to calm himself down. When he finally regained his composure he felt…. Empty.

There was not a single trace of earlier struggle on his face. His face became apathetic.
