A Search For Truth

The party of two had made their way back to Destra, and turned the wyvern head over to Michael. Xerxes told Xura that he was heading back to his home village for a while, and asked her to handle any questions Michael would have about Gabriel's absence, or about how the quest went. Xerxes used his {Ability Boost} and ran westward making it to his home village in no time at all. He had shown up with the few villagers hard at work, and the old chief making sure all was going well. As the people saw Xerxes walking into the village they all ran into their homes afraid of his evil look. The only one to stay was the old man.

"Xerxes, my how you've grown". The old man said as he looked over the young man. "Are you not going to run old man?". Xerxes said as he approached the chief. "There is no need for that my boy. I am well aware of who you are, and while others may have forgotten the tragedy that befell on you, I have not, and if you would call me Chief Karl". "As you wish Chief. I have recently gotten some news that my parents weren't my biological mother and father. Do you know if that is true?". "They were going to tell you when you were old enough to understand, but they never got that opportunity. The two you knew as your parents were actually, my son and daughter in law. Their names were John and Diana. One day they were out hunting and gathering for the villagers. That's when they found you. You were walking around an old abandoned village that was burned to the ground since before I was born. That's when they brought you back here and took care of you, as if you were their own son". Karl said as a tear rolled down his check remembering his son and daughter in law. "What else do you remember? Why was I out there alone?". "Well Xerxes that is something we never found out. They said that you kept asking were your people were, but the three of us searched that village as good as we could and we never found any sign of life other than you. However after your parents passed away, and you were nowhere to be found, I traveled from city to city looking for the answers as to your origin. It took me years, but in an ancient text that I came across in the capitals archives, I believe I had found out why. A thousand years ago it is said that the Gods killed off the majority of the demon race, and sealed away the rest inside some catacombs that are hidden underneath that very village. That means that you are more than likely the only demon in existence today. I am not sure how you were born this long after your people were sealed away, but that doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that you are my grandson". "Thank you Karl. I am grateful for the information. Do you remember where that village is?". "Of course I do, it is directly north of here. Listen Xerxes you shouldn't let people know these things. If word gets around it could mean trouble for you". Xerxes now turning away and heading back from the direction he had come from he said, "thanks chief, but if I were you I wouldn't worry too much. After all I have survived this long". "Where are you going Xerxes?". Xerxes turned his head to look at Karl. "To search for the truth chief, and anyone who gets in my way will surely regret that decision".

Just like that Xerxes was gone, running back to Destra to meet back up with Xura.
