A G.o.D Doesn’t Kneel

As the hood uncovered the head of the dukes last line of defense, Xura fell speechless. It was a young woman of around twenty years old. She was the complete opposite of Xura, she had long black hair, and brown eyes. Around her neck was a small purple stone on a silver necklace. "Sarah!", Xura shouted as she ran toward her sister, but instead of a reunion she was denied passage by one of Xerxes scythes. "Xura forget going to her. She will kill you". Xerxes said as a devilish grin appeared on Sarah's face. "How perceptive of you", Francis now speaking to the two of them. "This girl is under a binding contract. She has to do whatever I say, or else the rest of her family dies. She is a part of my underground ring known as The Serpents Fang. She is one of the top assassins.....Sarah kill that devil". Upon his word she swung a poison coated dagger straight for Xerxes neck, but just before the attack landed. {Steel Skin}. The dagger hit its mark, but could not pierce through to even scratch him. Sarah redirected and was now headed for Xura. Xerxes pulled up his right scythe and began to swing it at Sarah's neck. "Xerxes no don't". Xura screamed as his weapon came to a halt. The tip of his scythe had shattered the purple stone that was around her neck. Sarah fell to the ground as if she was completely exhausted.

With Xerxes closing in with the duke, who now knew he had nothing left to throw in between him and Xerxes, he said, "surely this is the power of a God. Let me go and everyone in Destra will know of your power". "There is nothing a lower being like you have to offer a higher being such as myself". Xerxes was now standing it front of Francis. He reached down and took a coin purse, which held five hundred gold pieces, off of the duke. "Take it all, take anything you want". Francis exclaimed hoping Xerxes was just wanting his riches. "Anything I want huh? {Death Penalty}. I want your life to end". Once more screams filled the air as the duke's body was slowly and painfully eaten by devastating force. With each bone that was broken the duke screamed louder and louder, as Xerxes' laughter increased equally. After the duke perished into the abyss of the black hole, Xerxes told Xura to take her sister back home, and that he would meet with the king himself. He handed her the coin purse, and told her to fill out their guild paperwork and deposit the money into a guild bank. Then he continued his journey as Xura, with her sister, headed back home to Destra.

Xerxes finished his run to Delmont rather quickly. On his arrival to the capital there was a large group of soldiers just outside the gate. Their job was to escort the party directly to the king. When the group saw Xerxes' demonic presence they ran in fear back to the castle, closing the gate behind them. Xerxes had a feeling something like this would happen, he knew his looks made most people flee in terror, but it was the king who wanted to meet the party, and he had traveled all this way. Xerxes knocked on the gate. The sound of his knock roared throughout Delmont. Xerxes waited for something to happen, but after a few minutes of nothing he decided to just go ahead and enter. He activated {Steel Skin} and jumped over the wall. It went just as he had expected it to go, with guardsmen beginning to attack him with anything they could find. He was hit with spears, axes, some even threw their swords at him, but Xerxes didn't let it bother him. "After all they are only trying to protect their city". He said to himself as he casually walked toward the castle.

By the time he arrived there was mages and knights barricading the door. "Is this how the king treats the one who killed the wyvern?". He asked the small army. "The king was told a man named Xerxes and a young woman named Xura killed the beast, not that a monster killed it". The leading commander said. "Well then the king heard correctly. Here read this". Xerxes tossed the knight his registration badge. As the commander looked over the badge he was apologetic, and showed Xerxes to the throne room. As he walked into the room there were knights forming two lines, one on each side of a red and gold carpet which ran the long length of the room. At the end of the carpet there was an empty elevated throne. "All hail King Fredric the fourth". A voice said filling the room. All of the people in attendance, minus Xerxes, fell to a knee with their head bowed, as his majesty entered the room. After seeing that Xerxes was not kneeling the head knight who had shown him in was furious. With his sword drawn he walked behind Xerxes with his sword pressed against the back side of his heart. "How dare you not bow before your king". The commander said with a infuriated voice. "The answer is quite simple commander...because a God does not kneel before a king".
