Imani whimpered, casting her gaze to the floor while tears ran down her face, as she assumed that Aksel still didn't believe her because of his facial expression.

He had been questioning her about missing vampires ever since Aryna left and she tried and failed to convince him that she had nothing to do with it.

"I swear, I have nothing to do with it," she said, her voice coming out shaky, as she sniffled.

Aksel had actually found out that she had no idea where the missing vampires were and she didn't know that werewolves were kidnapping vampires after he asked her a couple of questions but watching her crumble was fun so he had decided to do question her for a couple of minutes more.
