173 - The lovers

"Pity that you wouldn't take me for my words except a third party strays in."

Athena said as soon as she dropped the heap of the lotuses before them under the tree. She didn't look disappointed but you could tell that she was a little bit displeased.

He didn't know what to say to her. He didn't know if he was worthy of looking her in the eyes.

He looked at Lara. She had been cold as ice since Athena had arrived.

That was very much a sign of respect but all Vulcan could see was, slavery.

He didn't know if he had the right to make a choice.

Athena turned to Lara and said,

"Get yourself a helping hand and convey this to the hall by the shore. Your pair would take over."

She said as Lara walked towards the heap.

"You're sure two people can bear this?"

Vulcan said pointing at the heap.

"We ain't mortal, My Lord."

Athena said. At that call, Vulcan's head swelled again and he felt like he would explode.
