Witch's Defeat

Haro folded his wings against his chest. "Hoot, this doesn't look too good." They just lost half their fighting force against the Bone Whistler, assuming that the battle was still going on. But from the way that the werewolves were talking and acting, it really seemed that the battle was already over and that they had lost. It looked like what the lady had shown them was true. But whatever the case was, he needed to find Kies first before deciding on their next course of action.

Haro flew back up to one of the higher branches of the tree where he was previously and sent out a wave of magic to try to detect Kies. Once he found him, he would send him a telepathic message and guide him to where they are.

After trying for a few minutes and still not being able to reach him, Haro flew up into the air to try to increase the range of his magic. But even so, he was still unable to connect with Kies. However, he did sense hundreds of presences slowly moving their way and assumed them to be the undeads sent by the Bone Whistler. From the speed at which they were moving, Haro estimated that they had another few minutes before they caught up to them. Until then, he would keep trying to find Kies.

"How fares the search?" Lisler asks Haro from the ground.

"Hoot, no luck so far."

After a bit more searching, Haro flew back down and landed on a low branch. His efforts in searching for Kies had been fruitless. Issie fluttered back to his side and Haro informed the other two of what was happening. "I couldn't find that child with my magic, and it looks like we will have to move on from here very soon. There are enemies approaching. They're due to arrive in a couple of minutes."

Other than Ammine, Haro and Lisler still look like they are capable of fighting but it wasn't the best of ideas to stay here and do so as it was meaningless. They had nothing to gain from defeating a bunch more undeads and Haro suggested that they move somewhere else for the time being. They could only hope that Kies was fine wherever he was.

Lisler tapped the handle of his sword, processing the situation before saying, "I-"

A crackling sound very rudely interrupted the undead and the four turned to see a rift open up next to them. Lisler instantly drew his blade with no hesitation and Ammine got ready to fight as well. But the tension quickly went away when they saw a familiar face pop through the rift.

"M-my, my. Sorry for taking so long to reach you," Fae said as he walked out of the rift. His clothes were torn and there were many cuts and bruises all over his body. It looked like he had also been in a fierce fight. The peculiar man tapped his fingers against his staff and told everyone, "Please follow me. We do not have much time." Fae then disappeared back into the rift without waiting for a response.

Ammine looked at Haro, seemingly asking him if he had found Kies yet. Haro shook his head and said, "I don't sense him anywhere near here. We'll have to try to find him at some later time. We first need to get out of here and find out what happened."

Ammine shook her head as well and pushed herself from the tree she was leaning against. The battle had left her tired, hungry, dirty, and overall just plain miserable. She knew that Kies was alive somewhere because Aeos are incredibly difficult to kill. He didn't need food or water or anything else to survive. She and Haro on the other hand do, and they couldn't fight anymore or do anything at all without some proper rest after what they just went through.

"What's the hold for?" Fae's head popped through the portal again. "Please hurry. I sense a horde of enemies approaching this area right now."

Ammine walked over to the rift and looked down at the man. She was roughly twice as tall as him and was a lot bigger as well. Fae looked up at the demon and shifted to the side to let her into the rift while motioning for the others to hurry up as well. One by one, everyone walked through the rift that led back to the Witch's domain with Haro being the last to enter.

Haro sent out one last magic wave to try to detect if Kies just arrived in the area, and after seeing that he hadn't, flew down from the branch and into the rift. 'Be safe, child.'
