Lisler's Ambush

The witch wasted no time and hopped through the portal before Fae could say anything else. In a panic, the undead ran across the water and jumped into the rift after her. That just left Kies and the rest standing in front of the rift. "We can't keep them waiting any longer," Kies said to everyone.

The four of them also went through the rift and appeared on the other side. Everyone was there waiting for them. "Slowpokes," Bloodmane commented. He then turned his head back in front of him and said, "The stench of blood is strong in this direction." Kies looked in the direction that Bloodmane was looking at. He couldn't see anything but trees and more trees, stretching all the way into the darkness.

"I believe that that area is where me and the young man- uh Kies, came from," Fae said. "The only thing that is there is blood." The piles of corpses had been disintegrated by the Childish Emperor. There was nothing left there anymore other than some pools of blood.

"How strange..." the witch said. Everyone turned to her, just enough that they could see a part of her but not her face.

"What is it, your excellency?" Fae asked her.

"I opened my rift in this area because I sensed that the Bone Whistler was nearby, but I do not sense him anywhere now."

"That can't be right... You're never wrong- ambush! Everyone take cover!" Fae suddenly shouted. Everyone quickly readied themselves and looked around for what Fae was talking about and saw it. The trees around them began to fall inward towards them. Everyone backed off to the rift which was far enough from any of the trees so that none of them would be able to reach and formed a circle.

To the right of Kies was Bloodmane and his fellow werewolves and to the left of him was the White Witch who was emitting so much magic power that he was getting shivers all over his body. Very quickly one by one, undead began to fade into existence around them. They were very different from the ones that any of them have faced before when fighting against the Bone Whistler. All of them were very muscular and looked very much human. However, instead of eyes, they all had hollow sockets.

"Ugh, these guys. I hate them," Bloodmane grunted. He seemed to have experience fighting them before and knew what they were. "Where did these ones even come from?"

The answer to Bloodmane's question quite literally appeared from thin air right in front of them after he asked that. "There are more of you this time," said a familiar voice. The lady that they had fought with earlier appeared before them. "But that matters not to me. I hope you're ready to die." She lifted her hand up into the air and all around them, the magic that was veiling all of the undead lifted, revealing hundreds swarming the area.

"Looks like we fell for the same trick twice now, or maybe it was thrice," Bloodmane noted. The werewolf stepped forward and stretched his arms, readying himself for a fight. "What are you all standing around for? We're surrounded, there's only one way out of here."

"I'm afraid it's not as simple as that..." Fae told him. The undead pointed his staff behind the mass in between a pair of trees. The space there was distorted and emitting a very eerie feeling. "There's no point in hiding. Come out, you deceiving traitor."

*Clap clap clap* "You found mine hiding spot," the traitor undead congratulated Fae as his veil was lifted off as well. Lisler drew his sword and pointed it at Kies, challenging him to a one-on-one. "May we?" The undead wanted to continue the fight where they left off. To show his sincerity in this duel, the undead in front of him parted, leaving a more than wide enough space for him to walk through safely.

"Hmph. Where's that abomination? I don't see that oversized pile of bones anywhere, yet I can feel his presence coming from your direction," Bloodmane asked the swordsman.

Lisler took out something small and white from his sleeves and threw it in front of him. It was difficult to see what it was but everyone soon realized that it was a piece of bone. It was emitting a strong magic power. They had been tricked. They were lured here by them. "Mine lips are sealed... unless you have the strength to make me open them," the undead told them.

"How do we know if you will even keep your word?" The undead didn't respond to Bloodmane's question but strangely, Kies had a feeling that the undead was smiling under his mask as if he were saying, 'You have no other choice but to believe me.'

"The waters of time flow. To make haste is not mine concern," the undead said.

"Oh, enough talking Lisler. We need to kill them already. We have other business to attend to," the female undead said. She put her hand forward and said one word. "Go." The undead immediately began to rush towards them.

"Stand close to me everyone," the witch said. Everyone was already in a tight circle, so they didn't need to move much more to get close to the witch.

Kies watched as the witch slowly raised her arm up while chanting something. She then suddenly brought it back down and a white pulse of light hit the ground and scattered all around them.
