Chapter 34: Turning Point, Part 1

"So," Jada began, "what's our next move?" She looked over the group sitting around the campfire later that night, searching the faces of everyone present.

"We're getting low on supplies," Markesha added.

"Well, then, we'll have to get more," Trevor eagerly replied as the side of his lip curled into a sinister grin.

"And how do you plan to do that?" Brittany asked, yawning already.

"What about the convenience store down the street from the school?" Trevor asked, looking around. "We have enough uniforms now. We can go in with guns and no one will think anything's out of the ordinary. Then, we turn the guns on them and—BAM!"

"No," Derek said softly, shaking his head. "We don't kill innocents."

"Not unless we have to," Jada amended, looking at Derek.

Derek shook his head then repeated. "No, we don't kill innocents. Agreed?"

There was a long pause, then a resounding grumble of agreement.
