Knowing the insurgents would find us soon, I knew I had to get my head straight if we had a chance of saving Derek. Also, Brandon was right. I couldn't let Timmy see me like this. He had been through enough. 


As I entered the cave, Lisa was sitting on the floor with her back to the wall, holding Timmy in her lap. Timmy's eyes lit up when he saw me, and he ran to me. I bent down and effortlessly scooped him into my open arms. 


Immediately, Lisa ran to Brolin and he wrapped his arms around her. 


"What happened?" Lisa asked, eyeing the frantic look in everyone's eyes. 


"All Hell broke loose," Brolin answered.

"What happened?" Markesha asked with fear prominent within her eyes.
