Chapter 64: Feelings, Part 1

After dinner, I joined the rest of the girls in kitchen duty. We laughed and joked while washing and drying dishes. Truly, I never thought that cleaning up after a meal could be so much fun. A few of the guys tried to help us, but we kicked them out, as we were having too much fun. We needed a hen party, so to speak. It brought back memories of holidays at home when I was young. All the women in the house, even visitors, all congregated in the kitchen while the guys watched football in the living room. On these occasions, Timmy was the only one allowed into the kitchen. We laughed and talked while preparing the meal and then afterward with the cleanup. Doing it together didn't seem like work at all and before we knew it, everything was done.

Out the window, I noticed that the sun was setting, and I wondered where Timmy and I might sleep. I hadn't thought about it earlier.

"What cha thinking about?" Lisa asked, wiping a glass plate.
