Exasperated Bae sighed. Her sister and Armel were arguing about the route to Laoshi.
"Everyone knows the quickest route is through the mountains," Armel huffed.
"Quickest, sure, if you make it there alive. Far safer to go around."
"Surely, the Kumari's advisor from Nun can direct us."
Bae rolled her eyes, trying to drown out the sound of their bickering. The carriage is far too small,' Bae decided internally, causing Armel to glance her way, offering her knee a gentle squeeze. Then he returned his attention to Adelaide.
"I don't understand why you are so against going through the mountains!"
Another sigh. They'd barely been on the road for a few hours and already the two were at loggerheads.
"Not that it matters," Bae interrupted. "We're going home first."
She was completely ignored as Adelaide cut across her, "it's not safe. Everyone knows the mountains are treacherous."
Bae stood to her feet, banging her fist on the carriage door.
