Chapter 91: By Magic, That's A Lie

Arvin spluttered and coughed. His health was quickly deteriorating and it was infuriating him. He couldn't die now, not when so much was held in the balance.

Gil, the late Kumari's Wenheenie mate passed Arvin a cup of water before returning to his seat.

The five remaining mates were sat around the round table in the library. It wasn't pleasant. In the past they had sat around that table countless times but Kwin had always been at the top of the table. Only five out of eight seats were inhabited and although it was a natural process that caused it, it did not sit well with any of them.

With both Kwin and Arlo dead and Osamu in Kumai, their family was no longer complete, and it had never felt quite so apparent.

"Arvin, are you suggesting that Princess Ji is preparing to oppose the Kumari?" Norio, Kwin's mate from Seom asked.

"I'm not sure. It's just a strange thing to do, isn't it?"
