Chapter 97: Surveillance

From his hiding place, Norio watched as Hisoka twice passed by. Neither time did he try to enter the boys' bedchamber and he did not seem at all surprised to find the protectors stood sentinel.

Norio wondered how many times in the last few days the Laoshian had walked the halls in this way. He almost pitied him. He seemed lost, his expression haunted as he passed by.

Norio climbed out of his hiding space, taking the Nunman by surprise.

"Norio, I didn't see you there."

"One of my son's favourite hiding spots."

"Ah, I see." The Nunman glanced round to see how much space there was in the small crook. "I'm not convinced I'll be able to hide in there."

Norio smirked. "You are rather on the large side," he said cheekily.

"You better not be calling me fat," Gwon-wi chuckled.

"Not at all. Simply bulky."

"It's pure muscle, you know," he said patting his belly.
