"Are you going to tell me what we're going to see?" Bae asked as she climbed into the carriage.


She was slightly out of breath from having climbed down the long winding staircase from the fort to the forest floor. From where she stood on the carriage's step, she couldn't even see the fort in the tree above, it was so high up. It was hard to believe that she'd ever climbed so high.


"I thought it might be more fun to surprise you," Mori told her, his face alight with excitement.


Bae finished her ascent into the carriage and took a seat on the plush seat. Mori followed after her, sitting opposite her. Caspet came to sit beside Bae, taking her hand in his as the Kitsune jumped into Bae's lap.


Bae giggled. Caspet was right. Armel's number one priority was always her safety.
