Chapter 107: The Truth

Arvin sighed, lowering his head into his hands. The others were arguing amongst themselves, unable to find consensus. It was shocking how much disharmony had arisen between them since Kwin's death. The magic that had bound them together for over twenty years was beginning to fray and it was particularly apparent in moments like this.

Arguing about Hisoka was not going to help anyone and each of them knew it full well and yet they argued on.

He wondered if he should try and reason with them but it didn't seem like he would achieve much for his efforts so instead, he stood to his feet, his legs wobblily beneath him.

Adelaide immediately went to help him but he gently pushed her away.

"It's okay," he told her softly. "I'm just going to go stretch my legs."

She looked like she was going to offer to accompany him but that was the last thing Arvin wanted so he called one of the protectors to his side, asking them for assistance instead.
