Chapter 116: Liking Him Was A Mistake

Yìwù couldn't keep her eyes open. It didn't matter that she'd promised to stay awake. Her entire body was begging for sleep and her eyes were no longer listening to her incessant instructions to stay open.

The stone floor was cold, and her body shivered in response. The wound on her side was bleeding less now and she knew that even if someone came to rescue her, without a healer, she had no chance of recovery.

Silence echoed around her, the only sound the buzzing in her ears.

She could only hope that Adelaide had made it safely to the Kumari's side. Or perhaps more importantly, that the Kumari had survived at all.

Her eyes closing, her heart slowing, she prepared herself.
