Bae moved to step towards her new mate but there was an almighty crash and Bae was pushed down to the ground, her head hitting the stone with a thump.
She tried to move, tried to get up but she couldn't. Her ears were buzzing and the sounds around her were muffled.
The Kumari wasn't at all sure what had pushed her down or what was restricting her movements now. Everything was black, even though her eyes were wide open. She heard a roaring lion, quickly followed by the sound of more of the giant beasts and she was filled with fear.
Silently, she called out to her mates, just as she felt Armel's arms pulling her out from beneath the thing that had been holding her down.
Finally, free and able to see, she clung to Armel.
What happened? She asked, looking around the room at the damage that had been caused.
I don't know, came the Cankurian's reply, Bae's other mates circling around them. Bae...
Looking at her feet, Bae let out a sudden cry. There lying on the ground was her father.
