Chapter 427: Workaholics

Georgia's POV:

The bed beside me is empty when I wake. Knowing Walker, he's probably gone to work. He's worse than me.

If our situations were reversed, there would be no way in hell that he'd stay in his bed and rest while the rest of our team were hard at work and yet that's exactly what he expects me to do.

He's probably interrogating my kidnappers but I'm expected to sit here and wait for the wound in my side to heal.

Yesterday feels like some strange sort of dream. I think Walker might have asked me to marry him but that doesn't seem likely. We've not known each other that long, only a couple of months.

My mum is waiting for me when I return to my bed after cleaning my teeth in the bathroom.

"Do you want some help?" she asks as I stumble through the doorway, clinging to the furniture to keep me upright.

"No. I'm fine."

She gives me a sceptical look.

"Walker and your dad will be back at lunch time," she tells me as I struggle back into bed.
