Georgia's POV:
If I was expecting it to be easy, I was sadly mistaken. No matter how hard I tried over the days that followed, I couldn't find her. There was no record of her dying, no record of her growing up in the care system and from what I could find she wasn't adopted either.
Trent reminded me frequently that the rest of the team had already looked for her but I refused to give up.
"Kids don't just disappear," I retort angrily when Walker suggests that we go home. It's late. We should have gone home hours ago but I'd refused.
His expression turns sad. He won't ask me to give up but I know that's what he wants.
I can understand it too. I want to give up. I'm not even sure why I'm so insistent that I need to find her. She's nobody to me. A complete stranger. The sister of my kidnapper.
"Please Georgia," he tries again. "You need to eat and sleep."
He's right. Of course, he's right but I still hesitate.
His eyes turn hard, cool steel.
"You promised."
