So: There were all these professional-looking people who wanted to either to interview me or spy on me. Why were they taking things so seriously? Why all the meetings, the questions about the Skulls, the drug savvy, the blind assassins... It was all just fiction to me, just possibility. In the big picture, what had I seen? What had I experienced?

It was hard clearing my head. For the hundredth time I went over it. I'd seen a big, distorted-looking street person shot dead. He looked like he'd been made up by a Hollywood monster-studio. That was it. I had been brought into a bunch of conferences with apparently legitimate representatives of law enforcement, busy people who don't like to waste time. Something had to be going on. But what? I didn't make any progress with that.
