╰┈➤ ❝ sadness inside him❞
"You can open your eyes now." San said softly, Wooyoung's hands still in his. "It's safe, don't worry."
Wooyoung opened one eye, then the other one and blinked. His breath was taken away by the surroundings. He was definitely on a ship that was anchored to the shore of an island of some kind. The ship was enormous, the tall mast reaching the sky, probably almost 10 meters long. There was another mast as well, but it wasn't as tall as the other one.
Big sails were attached attached to both masts, their bright red colour almost identical to his own blood. He was taken aback by everything as he took in every single detail of the ship and how pretty it was. San watched as Wooyoung span in circles and glanced everywhere with a smile on his lips.
"Do you like the ship?" San asked, gaining Wooyoung's attention. "It is mine, so of course you'd like it."
Wooyoung nodded, walking back to San's side. "I love it!" He said excitedly. "It's really pretty." He added.
San smiled and took the other's hand in his again. "Do you want to meet my crew?" He asked the excited boy. "They're probably eating, since it's lunch time at the moment."
"Uh, sure, why not, but weren't we supposed to talk about something..?" Wooyoung trailed, obviously a little uncomfortable about meeting new people.
San gasped in realization. "Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that." He laughed, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment. "I'll show you the way to my office so we can have a chat before meeting the others, okay?"
Before Wooyoung was able to say anything, a yell was heard from one of the masts, the longer one to be exact. Almost instantly after, a figure was waving its hand at San and Wooyoung, getting ready to come down with whatever means possible. San only rolled his eyes, a laugh erupting from him, making Wooyoung a little confused.
"That's one of my crew mates, Wooyoung." San laughed, watching as his friend dropped down from the tall mast. It was a tall boy, taller than Wooyoung or San. He had a smile on his face as he looked at San with what looked like admiration. "He's the one that check the weather every now and then. I guess he's pretty helpful." San joked, a look from both boys.
"My name's Mingi!" Mingi voiced, reaching for Wooyoung's hand so they could shake hands. Wooyoung looked at Mingi with a suspicious look but decided to trust him since San trusts him as well. "Nice to meet ya! What's your name?"
Wooyoung looked at Mingi for a few seconds before opening his mouth. "I'm Wooyoung..." He said quietly, clinging onto San for safety reasons, or then he was just scared of meeting new people. Mingi looked at Wooyoung and gave him a big grin before turning to San.
"So, you found what you were looking for." Mingi winked at San, who gave him an annoyed look. "Alright, I'll leave you two be ad go help Yunho with lunch, see ya later!" He waved at Wooyoung and San and disappeared inside the ship.
San sighed and looked at Wooyoung who was thinking about something again. "Do you want to talk now?" He asked, gaining a nod from Wooyoung who followed San to his office.

When San and Wooyoung go to the office, Wooyoung had to take in everything inside the big room. San had mentioned that he was the captain of the ship, but this big of a room only for the captain? And it wasn't even his bedroom? He was amazed. "Your office is huge." Wooyoung voiced, gaining a laugh from San who nodded and sat down at his desk with a huff.
"I know, it's pretty impressive right?" He bragged, Wooyoung smiling and dragging a chair next to San. "Now, you had something to talk about, am I right? And I assume it has something to do with Yeosang?"
Wooyoung gulped and looked down at the desk, glancing at every pen and paper to keep himself calm and collected. "I guess.." He mumbled. "It has something to do with Yeosang." He confirmed San's sentence.
"I knew it." San nodded. "Do you know each other?"
"We do...or at least we used to..." Wooyoung murmured, although, San was able to hear him since they were all alone in the office and it as pretty quiet. "He uh, used to be my friend in school, actually." He looked down at his lap.
To say San was very surprised would be an understatement. He was extremely surprised because he never thought Yeosang would have had any friends considering his behavior and expressions are as cold as ice. And in the human world of all things too. Why would Yeosang be in the human world of all things? Why would he be friends with Wooyoung?
"We were best friends, we were almost inseparable..." Wooyoung continued. "But my parents ruined everything for me when they heard I had a friend."
San frowned at this, he knew what Wooyoung's mother was like and there was no doubt his father was the same. He just let his wife beat his son and abuse him, that's not a proper father nor a proper caretaker. He could feel the anger bubbling inside him as he heard Wooyoung talk about how he was abused and how bad of a life he had lived until now.
He wanted to make Wooyoung happy, he wanted him to smile and what he meant by smile, he meant a genuine, happy smile. Not the fake smile Wooyoung had worn throughout his whole life, everyday. San wanted to make sure Wooyoung could enjoy his life to the fullest from now on.
