hostage

╰┈➤ ❝hostage❞

Hongjoong was carrying the unconscious Seonghwa on his shoulder, walking through the dark hallways in the ship. The wooden planks creaked with every step he took, making the atmosphere somewhat eerie.

The ship had a bigger room that was used for hostages, a few prison-like cells stuck together in the corner and a small table in the other corner with a lamp on it to illuminate the dark space.

Hongjoong reached for his pocket, pulling out a rusty set of keys and inserting a big metal key in the keyhole, turning in around and opening the door. He was indeed met with a very dark room, so, he made his way to the lamp and switched it on.

The two cell rooms were in the corner, nothing really inside them except a small blanket on the floor of each cell. The thought of sitting inside one of the cells gave Hongjoong goosebumps. It must be very uncomfortable to sleep in there. He almost felt bad for Seonghwa, almost.

Closing the door behind him, he carefully placed Seonghwa in one of the cells. He also checked him to see if he had any blades or knifes on him, just to be sure. After making sure he had nothing dangerous on him, Hongjoong closed the cell door and hung the key on the wall. He sat down on the floor and watched Seonghwa's somewhat peaceful state. He looked so innocent as he slept on the floor on top of the blanket.

"Are you just going to stare at him for the whole night?" A voice called out, the sound of a door closing following it. Hongjoong froze and looked up just to find Jongho leaning against the stone wall next to the door. "What? You thought I was sleeping?" Jongho huffed.

Hongjoong chuckled, rolling his eyes at Jongho's teasing remark. "Sure, we all think you're a baby and go to sleep at 6 pm." He spat back, somewhat proud of his comeback. Jongho laughed, giving Hongjoong a weird look before seating himself next to him.

"Well, I'm glad there's at least one person who agrees I'm not that young." The younger hummed. Turning his gaze to Seonghwa's sleeping figure. "Do you have any idea when he'll wake up?"

Hongjoong shrugged. "Maybe in an hour, maybe it'll take days, I don't know." He explained, Jongho nodding. "But he could wake up in a few minutes too, who knows." He added with a smirk. "The faster the better, I want to ask some things from him."

"Ohhh, I see." Jongho laughed. "I guess you're excited to have your first hostage." He scoffed, Hongjoong pushing him away in a playful manner. "Hey, I said what I said."

"Shut up." Hongjoong laughed. "Of course I'm excited." He smirked. "This is the real deal, you have no idea how many times I've gone through this inside my head."

Jongho looked at Hongjoong for a second, almost with a judging expression. "Jesus, that's too much information." He chuckled. "I didn't need to know you like to take people as your hostages and question them when they're locked up in a cell."

"Sounds weird when you put it that way, but yeah." Hongjoong laughed. "I guess I like it." He added with a scoff.

The younger released a loud laugh. "That's kinky-"

"Shut your nineteen-year-old mouth up." Hongjoong interrupted the younger. Lightly punching his shoulder before getting up. "Well, there's no way I'm waiting here for him to wake up." He hummed turning to Jongho who also got up. "Or do you want to spend the night here with the bugs?"

"Nah, I'll pass, thanks." Jongho chuckled. "I'll go check on Yunho and Mingi, just in case." He said, walking to the door and opening it. "Where are you going after this?"

"I'll probably go talk to San about Seonghwa." Hongjoong explained, gaining a nod from the younger who left the room right after. "Well then, have a good night mister assassin." He said to the sleeping Seonghwa and left the room.

Mingi and Yunho had made their way back to the kitchen to get something to eat after all that weird commotion back at Yunho's office. Yunho was still a little shaken but Mingi kept reassuring him that everything was okay and that he would protect him if something were to happen.

They barely had time to sit at the table before Jongho burst through the door and waved at the both of them, seating himself next to Yunho. "So, what have ya guys been doing?" He asked with shining eyes. "Have you eaten yet?"

Mingi chucked, covering his mouth. "We barely had time to sit down before you almost broke the door and rushed in here." He laughed, Jongho rolling his eyes and waving off the other. "So no, we didn't eat." He added with another chuckle, standing up and walking to the fridge.

"Alright." Jongho huffed. "Did you two have anything in mind? What are you gonna eat?" He asked with curiosity laced in his voice. Mingi was rumbling through the fridge and Yunho and Jongho were setting the table.

"Well, there's some bread in here along with... chicken salad?" Mingi tilted his head, taking the blue container out of the fridge to inspect it. "Why the fuck does this look like puke with chicken in it?" He turned around, showing the insides of the container to the other two. Jongho and Yunho grimaced at the sight, both of them immediately pointing at the trash can.

Mingi laughed, getting their message and throwing the contents of the container in the trash can. "Well, we could make another salad." He requested. "But first, I want to know who made that monstrosity of a thing." He said, looking at the trash can and grimacing right after.

"It could be Hongjoong." Jongho suggested. "He makes all those weird healthy foods to himself and never reveals what he puts into them." He explained, looking at Mingi with a smile. The brunette nodded with a wide grin.

Everyone just admitted Hongjoong sucks at cooking.
