They lie

I marched wearily towards the second bed, dragging my heavy limbs as I slumped face-first onto the mattress.

"Why didn't you help me persuade them?" My voice muffled against the sheets.

Although something within me already had an idea about Althea's reply.

"Oh come on, staying in is not that bad." she said, yawning. "We've had a pretty exhausting day. Don't you think that this is just their way of telling us to get some rest?"

"You're just saying that because you're too tired to go out again."

"Are you not, then?"

I thought about it. This morning had been pretty draining. But I couldn't allow myself to stay still.

Before answering, I flipped my body and lied on my back, staring towards the wooden ceiling. "I brought them here. I can't just let them do all the work for me."

Well technically, I was the whole reason why we were here.
