A few days later...
The princess told the servants to finish the decorations within the day. She then went to Olivia and told her to clean the ball room.
"Yes, your highness," Olivia obeyed.
Kaycee looked at the woman standing beside her. "Eva, prepare the menu for tomorrow night's party."
Eleanor responded, "Yes, your highness."
After assigning tasks to the servants, Kaycee went to Carson and told him to clean the floor. The prince then asked her why he needed to do that.
The princess slapped his shoulder. "To let Olive notice you!"
Carson sighed, "I can't do that. I have never cleaned the floor."
"Up to you then. It's your loss, not mine," Kaycee said as she started walking away.
Before she was able to walk any further, Carson grabbed her arm. "Okay, I'll do it."
When the prince started scrubbing the floor, Olivia saw him and asked what he was doing.
The prince replied, "I'm cleaning the floor."
Olivia smiled. "It's not your job to. Leave it to me."
Carson wiped his sweat. "It's fine. It's not a big deal."
"Your highness, when did you even get the idea of cleaning the floor?"
"Not long ago."
"Your highness, leave the cleaning to me."
Carson disagreed, "No, I will help you clean the ball room."
Olivia shouted, "But—"
"Stop talking or I don't know what'll do to you."
"Like what then?"
The prince then stood closer to her and whispered, "Would you want a kiss in front of everyone?"
Olivia blushed and took a few steps back. "Okay, I'll stop."
"Have you made up your mind?"
"I haven't."
"I've given you enough days. Just tell me your answer."
"Your highness, I honestly don't think that—"
Before she was able to finish her sentence, the prince told her that she didn't need to say it anymore because he knows what she'll say. Olivia then laughed and told Carson that she was about to say that she has already forgiven him.
The prince then looked back at her and shouted, "Really?"
"Yes, your highness. I've realized that everyone deserves another chance."
"Thank you, I'll make it up to you then."
Meanwhile...
(In the royal kitchen)
Farah informed Eleanor that the king hated spicy dished. Eleanor then asked her what she will make.
Farah rolled her eyes. "Think of something else. You're the one in charge."
Eleanor scratched her head. "I don't know what he likes."
"Then figure it out."
"How can I if tomorrow is his birthday?"
"Then ask the other servants."
Eleanor chuckled. "Oh, I see."
Farah responded, "Looks like you don't have much experience."
"I wasn't using my head. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Get to work now," Farah said as she walked out of the kitchen.
Eleanor then went to the other maids and asked them what the king liked, but no one was able to give an answer. She thought, "I guess I should try making the dish mother taught me."
While she was thinking of the ingredients, the princess came in to check her progress. She then saw Eleanor sitting on a chair, doing nothing. She asked, "Have you decided?"
Eleanor looked back. "Not yet, your highness."
"Why not? It's been an hour."
"I don't know what the king likes."
Kaycee smirked. "He likes anything that comes from you."
Eleanor laughed. "Your highness, that's just—"
"Just kidding. He likes crabs," Kaycee interrupted.
"I see. Thank you for giving me ideas, your highness."
"No problem."
A few hours later, night came.
(In the maid's room)
Eleanor asked Olivia if she was able to talk with the prince today. Olivia then told her everything and that she wasn't angry at him anymore.
Eleanor smiled. "That's good to hear."
Olivia started fixing her hair. "How about you? Have you decided on the menu?"
"I plan to cook crab."
"That's it?" Olivia asked.
"I'm only assigned to cook one dish. The rest will be decided by the chefs," Eleanor answered.
"I see. What makes you think that the king likes crabs?"
"The princess told me."
Olivia then asked where the she learned to cook crabs. Eleanor sat on her bed and told her that her mother was the one who taught her.
"Well, don't you plan on giving him a gift? You can earn his trust by doing it." Olivia smirked.
"I don't even know what he likes."
"How about that white polo you got?"
Eleanor's eyes widened. "You saw it?"
"I knew you'd plan on giving him."
"I'm not sure if he'll like it. It looks really plain."
Olivia smiled. "It's not the gift that matters. It's from who it comes from."
"He only sees me as a maid."
"At least he would appreciate someone giving him a gift."
"I guess you're right. Should I still give it to him?" Eleanor asked.
"Is that even a question? Just do it for the red gem."
"I don't wanna regret this."
Olivia laughed. "You won't."
