Five years later, Lucy and Josh got married. King Antonio then offered Josh to take his place as king, but he refused. He didn't want people to think that he married the princess for her social status. He wanted to stay as a general and protect the entire kingdom.
"You're back." Lucy smiled at the man standing in front of her.
"I just came back from war. We won," Josh said as he looked at the woman wearing a long white dress.
Lucy wrapped her arms around him. "I missed you. You've been out for too long."
Josh smiled. "I've tried my best to come back as soon as I can."
"I made some bread. Would you care to take a bite?"
"I would love to."
Lucy started walking away. "I'll go and prepare it then."
"I don't want it now," Josh said before grabbing her wrist and turning her around before she crashed into his broad chest.
Lucy tried to get out of his grip. "Josh, what's wrong?"
"I've been out for such a long time. Are you not going to say anything to me?"
"What else is there to say? I've already told you that I miss—"
"You're forgetting this," Josh said before pulling her closer and gently brushing his lips against hers.
As soon as the princess felt his lips on hers, she immediately responded. Heat then rose from her body as the general deepened the kiss. She didn't think of anything else except him. The kiss that she has been longing for, it was finally there. She missed him so bad, and so she couldn't control it. His kiss was too addictive.
Lucy broke the kiss which left her short in breath. "I think I should get it now. The bread's getting cold."
Josh smirked. "I want a taste of you first."
"You've been out for too long to the point that you've missed me so bad?"
"I fought all day. Don't you think I deserve more than a kiss?"
The princess laughed. "Taste the bread first."
Josh sighed, "We'll, if my wife says so, then I guess I have no choice."
On the other hand, Mark and Charlotte were in charge of taking care of Gabriel while Antonio and Valentina were away.
"Why can't I go on a date? I'm already thirteen!" Gabriel folded his arms.
"We were just ordered not to let you out of the castle," Mark responded.
"You're acting like my parents."
Charlotte then explained that they were just doing what was best for him.
Gabriel sighed, "I'm not a child anymore! Why do you keep—"
"You've grown so much, Gabriel," a woman came and interrupted.
Gabriel looked at the direction of the voice. "Ruby...?"
The woman walked towards him. "Don't you remember what I taught you? Do not shout at other people who are older than you right?"
Tears started falling from the boy's eyes. "You're actually here."
Ruby hugged him. "Silly boy! Of course I am. I'm here to help them take care of you."
Gabriel cried louder. "Charlotte and Mark is so rigorous towards me!"
"Hey! We're just following your parent's orders!" Charlotte folded her arms.
Ruby laughed. "It's not easy to take care of this little boy. He's the naughtiest kid you'll ever encounter in your life."
"Then we'll leave him to you. We're exhausted," Mark sighed.
A few hours later...
(At the royal garden)
"I can't believe that it's been five years since Albert died." Charlotte looked at the man holding her hand.
"Life gave him a choice, but he still chooses to harm the people around him," Mark responded.
"I'm glad it did happen. If it didn't, we'd probably wouldn't be together right now. The investigation made us closer to each other. So much things has happened, but the world still seems to be the same."
Mark looked at the sky. "We live in a big and beautiful world filled with different kinds of people, but one thing I find interesting is, out of all the people world, I met you."
Charlotte laughed. "You just came back from war, but why are you telling me this? It's not like—"
"I just wanted to remind you how special you are in my life."
"Meeting you was the best thing that happened to me, Mark. I love you."
Mark pulled her into a hug. "I'll love you forever, Charlotte."
