Chapter Three : Deafening Silence

Standing in front of the mirror of her bathroom, Celestia was preparing herself for the repeat of a normal day of school. She just finished showering and made sure she washed off all of the shower gel that she had applied on her skin to satisfy her mom's worry of it looking too dull and ashy for her liking. Looking up at the mirror, Celestia stared at her reflection as she thought about the dream and laughed to herself of how crazy she was being to even think something like that could be true. Noticing a red mark on her forehead, she inched closer to the mirror, touching it and immediately wincing in pain, wondering where it came from. All of a sudden her reflection disappeared. A puzzled look was splashed all over her face and she blinked furiously, as if that would bring her mirrored image back. Her hand instinctively went to touch the mirror when her reflection jumped back up, but in a more gruesome look, black eyes and white pale skin as it showed off its razor sharp teeth and threw its claw-like hands at Celestia. However, Celestia gasped in shock as she fell to the floor, groaning at how hard she fell on the not-so soft floor. In the speed of light, she got up, evading the pain, and looked for that creature or whatever it was. But, alas it was gone as fast as it sprung to her and her reflection was there again...Was she really hallucinating? She swore she felt it touch her. Not wanting to stay any longer in this small space, she grabbed her towel and started to prepare for another day of what she considered hell.

Celestia was making her way to school when she stopped at the entrance. For afar she was able to see her friends who were past the gates, laughing and having fun, big grins decorated on their faces. Celestia gripped the sides on her bag as she felt gloomier by the second, her eyes losing color and becoming blank, her mouth in a firm line, neither smiling nor frowning. She stared at the ground and walked back as she stayed away from sight and waited for everyone to go to class. For once, the sound of the bell, commanding everyone to go to class, made her relax as the sound of the students talking started to descend as each of them went into the building. Celestia started walking once everything was quiet, and she looked up at the building that was towering over her as if it was crushing her down. Feeling chilly, she started to make her way up the stairs, each effort put in by her leg, making her feel like someone was trying to pull her back and stop her from going to class. She practiced keeping up a smile, but to her misfortune it refused to stay on for more than five seconds. Refraining herself from punching the wall in frustration, Celestia continued her journey up the stairs. All of a sudden, her airways got blocked and she felt herself no longer breathing. She touched her neck, feeling the unbearable pain overwhelm her, as if she forgot the basics of inhaling and exhaling all of a sudden. She tried screaming, but nothing came out, just the desperate sounds of her fighting for her survival. Her heart started thudding in trepidation as she felt tears well in her big doe eyes, and her legs shaking uncontrollably as the world around started spinning so hard, nothing was clear anymore. Stumbling against the wall, she begged and begged to be able to breathe as she fell to the floor. Finally, by some sort of miracle she breathed. Coughing her lungs out, Celestia tried to pick herself up, avoiding whatever just happened so she could maintain her stoic expression.

All heads turned to face her, as she entered the classroom late, the teacher not even bothering to question it, which made her relieved. Arabella, Nolan and Luna, who were in her class stared at her, because Celestia never gets late and something about her expression was off to them, but they figured she was just late and ran to class. On the other hand, Celestia took out her book and began to doodle on it as she tried to figure out what the hell was going on with her all of a sudden. She grabbed her black and red pens as she started drawing whatever came into her mind, while asking herself questions. 'Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something ? Why does it feel like something isn't right ? Is something wrong with me ? Am I possibly dying ?' gripping the pen harder she began to draw lines more strongly and color until it was really dark. She tried back tracking to how she was doing these few days and her behavior was becoming stranger and stranger by the second. She knew she couldn't stay near her friends, in fear of harming whatever they had. She slowly let her head fall against the table, without making any noise and the moment her skin came into contact with the not-so dried ink she retracted herself to see what she drew. Dropping both her pens to the floor, she couldn't move. Until her classmate tapped her shoulder to give her pens back, she swiftly covered the paper ignoring the ink that started to imprint itself on her skin and leave a dark and unstable feeling in her. Once she was sure no one dared to look in her direction, Celestia unhurriedly pulled her hand down, but she knew delaying the process wouldn't make whatever she drew, disappear for good. The hollow eyes filled with black and tearing in red, with rueful smile stared back at her. Celestia felt as if she was trying to portray someone through that drawing, but feeling herself being trapped by this picture's meaning made her crush it in her hand as the sound of loud crinkles came out of the paper, as if it came to life and was screaming from the pain that she caused it.

"Why the fuck is this happening to me"
