Sleepless Night

Alex left to go to sleep.around an hour ago but Diana can't because if she does she'll be haunted by those dreams again.

'Who are those people?' Diana wondered 'Well I won't find out if I don't get any sleep.' she decided to go to sleep and find out who these people are. 'My rooms peaceful and in away it resembles my old room but this one feels more cozy and less like a prison,' she thought as she changed into a simple white night gown putting her clothes away and hanging her swords beside the bed.

Diana moved the satchel onto the back of the chair that sits in front of the vanity table by the bed before she climbed into bed and slowly let sleep take her.

It was the same dream just different memories but this time the first memory she saw she wanted to escape. It was the memory of her and her friend running away and then in an instant her body dropped down on the verge of death. Diana caught her before she hit the ground her body went limb in Diana's arms. No life was left in her eyes.

She'd been robbed of that because of Diana and her parents they didn't have to kill her but they did without a hint of regret or sorrow ever shown. Diana had to learn to live with her death and she did because she realised if she continue on fighting and continue on living and excepted her friends death but never letting it hold her back then she can live not just her share of life but there's as well. Diana decided at a very young age she'd live for her.

The dream then jumped to another memory. This time it was before her friend died they were happily sitting in the garden having lunch it was so peaceful as the surrounding roses had just blossomed.

The next memory was when Luna was born and Diana was looking after her Luna was so small but still as black as the night sky.

Then Diana was back in that room with the same people on the same bed with the same baby.

"Who are you?" Diana asked them but just like all the times before they didn't hear her. She walked towards them and once again saw the baby girl the lady was holding. "Who are you?" Diana asked them again but still got no reply.

"Why won't you answer me?" She asked her frustration building "Tell me who you are please," but still there's no answer.

They just kept lovingly looking at the baby not even looking in Diana's direction. Then memories all came crashing in fighting to be seen, fighting to be heard and once again it felt like a thousand knives stabbing at her brain over and over again.

The pain is even more excruciating this time forcing Diana to her knees.

"Ahhhhh!" she faintly screamed at the pain as it increased just before she woke up covered in sweat and sitting upright in bed.

'That dream again, why do I keep having it? Is it trying to tell me something?' Diana wondered before getting up and looking out the window it's still dark outside and looking over at the clock it's only one in the morning.

'I might as well get some training in,' Diana thought as she walked over to the wardrobe and took out a pair of ebony trousers and a dark crimson top as well as a pair of dark blue boots which reach her knees.

She quickly changed into them before grabbing her dual swords and leaving her room. The castle's quiet with only the knights on guard around, everyone else was happily asleep. Everyone except Diana that is.

She remembered seeing a nice, quiet area where she can train without being seen and decided to head there. It's truly beautiful plants hung over the simple architecture violet flowers blooming on the vines.

It seems like Diana can escape from everyone here. She pulled out her swords and started training making sure her every action is perfect. One wrong move can decide a victory, cost you your life or even someone else's life.

'Why do I keep having that dream?' Diana wondered to herself 'I've been having the exact same dream for three days straight, but why? It always shows me memories good or bad and I have no control over it but then before it ends in agony I always see those two people.'

The sky's becoming a beautiful colour with faint shades of pink, orang, red, yellow and even purple bringing it to life but Diana never stoped training. Instead, the suns rays found her swords reflecting off of them. Sweat dripped down her forehead, she's been training for hours now but that's still not enough.

Diana has to become the best. She can never fail.

A few hours later, she felt a pair of eyes on her, the sun was now in the pail blue sky. It's amazing how beautiful this Kingdom is even though it's at war.

"Good morning, Alex." Diana greeted knowing it was him even without turning around.

"Good morning," Alex greeted her back before asking "how long have you been out here?"

"A while," she answered without mentioning roughly how long but he didn't push for more information.

"Care for a sparing partner?" he asked pulling out his sword.

"Not at all," she replied sheathing the sword in her left hand.

"Aren't you going to use both?" he asked.

"No, I don't use both too often." Diana answered nonchalantly before they began trading blows. You can tell a lot about someone when you fight against them.

They spared until Queen Valeria came out to get them both for breakfast reminding them that they are meeting the others later. She handed them each a towel to wipe away their sweat.

"How was your spar?" Queen Valeria asked as they walk back through the garden and up to the palace.

"In lightning," they both replied to her question at the same time which caused Diana to smile slightly and Alex to chuckle.

Breakfast was delicious and full of chatter, Alex and Diana excused themselves afterwards so that they could go and meet the others.
