Party’s Over

With the party being put to an abrupt end the entire manor seemed almost lifeless. The only people left were me, Serene, Alice, Eli, and the butlers. We all sat in a room together and were thinking about what we should do.

"We could always ask Morgan for help. We've all seen his strength so getting back your family diamond won't be too hard." I suggested.

Alice shook her head, "that won't work. He told me that he had other things to do since we were attending the party in his place."

I let out a small sigh and leaned back. We were in a tight spot. There was no way we could beat Ren or that masked man alone. To make matters worse we didn't even know where they were staying at.

"So Eli, can you please tell me again why this diamond is so precious to you and your family? We're risking our lives getting it back so I want to make sure it's actually worth it." I asked.

"The diamond had some power within it. My family has been studying it for generations and I believe I've finally made a breakthrough." Eli said, leaning over the table resting his chin on his hands.

"We won't be able to retrieve your family's diamond today but we can start tomorrow. We can start my asking all the inn's if they've seen anybody who looks like Ren." I said, getting up from my seat.

Alice and Serene both stood up as well. Eli let out a small breath and closed his eyes. The three of us left the room and started making our way to the exit.

As we exited the building I took a good look at the night sky. Fireflies flew around us giving us a small amount of light. I took another step forward but stopped when I heard the door behind us open. I turned around to see who it was and saw Eli.

"I never properly thanked you for helping me out. Though you aren't involved in my affairs you still wish to help me out." He said, bowing his head.

I gave Eli a smile and walked over to him. I put my hand on his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up. I turned away from him and returned back to Alice and Serene.

"Speaking of personal affairs. Do you still want to help us Serene? You only came here to help me reach the second floor yet you stayed with us. If not you're free to return home if you want." I said.

"I've had a lot more fun traveling with you guys so I think I'll stay." She said.

I closed my eyes and smiled. While we walked home the wind blew by giving us a nice breeze. I put my hands in my pockets and let out a small breath.

"We all know the plan. So let's do our best and stop Ren and his masked friend shall we?" I said, smiling at the both at them.
