"How long to you think it'll take us to arrive at Floor Twenty?" I asked, looking out the train's window.
"A couple days." Alice said, grabbing a book out of her bag.
I looked around and saw that everyone had fallen asleep already. I let out a deep breath before leaning back in my seat so I could relax a little.
Alice continued reading her book as the ride continued while I just and looked out the window. With how high up we were, I could see the entirety of Floor Ten. The big town we were just at seemed so small now.
"Did you hear what's happening on Floor Twenty?" A voice behind me asked the person sitting next to her.
"Yeah. It's a good thing we weren't assigned to that floor." The voice next to her responded.
As much as I wanted to ask what they were talking about, I didn't want to come off as nosy so I just kept quiet while they talked.
It didn't take long for the couple to stop talking leaving me completely dark as to what they were talking about. I would've just asked Alice but now she was too deep in her book to even hear me.
The area outside the windows suddenly became pitch black and made it almost impossible to see anything. I could hear Alice make a "tch" noise before shutting her book.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"We're between Floor's Ten and Eleven. There's no light source here so it's always covered in darkness." Alice responded.
"Is there at least a way to light up the train we're in?"
"If I was a light magic user I could." Alice responded.
I let out a big yawn before leaning back into my seat again. Before I even knew it, I had already began drifting to sleep.
"I should probably go to sleep." I said, rubbing my eyes.
"That's not a half bad idea." Alice responded.
