Chapter Twenty-seven

To Mayra, the fifteen minutes given to answer the test felt like five seconds. At the end, she had barely written any answers on her test sheet but it had been taken away by Mr Chauhan anyway.

She had opened her mouth to protest, hoping he would allow her some more time to write, but it would not have mattered. She did not know the answers to write them.

He had started marking the test papers immediately and that made her feel worse. But nothing felt as bad as when he told her, "Mayra Ahuja, meet me in the staffroom after class."

Mr Chauhan's face was blank, not revealing any of his thoughts so no one had found out how badly she had done in her test bu they were going to find out soon.

"Let's not talk about that horror-show ever," Shrey said, his eyes widened as his eyes followed the sir as he left their class.
