Chapter Twenty-eight

"So, the two of you can work it out from here."

That was all Mr Chauhan said before he dismissed the pair.

As soon as they were out of the staffroom, Mayra turned around, sucking in a breath, unsure of the words that would leave her mouth, and fixed Ahaan with a glare.

He did not meet her eyes but his face had a bored look on it. He said in a low voice, "Before you come at me, let me say this : I wasn't aware the old man was talking about you. Or I wouldn't have agreed with it."

She folded her arms, taking a step behind to create some distance between them. "I can't believe I'm saying this but I don't have a choice."

She saw his eyebrows rise, either because he was surprised or confused. He was not expecting that. "What do you mean?" he asked, folding his own arms, mirroring her and leaned against the wall.
