Expedition IV
'Shit!' Was what Nox thought.
Was he out of moves?
Not at all but he was truly out of moves that he was willing to use and the blasted Dungeon supported Demi Spirit had pushed him enough to warrant the use of a move he wasn't normally willing to use . . .
'Goodbye Sceptre of Maledictum . . .' Nox lamented in his mind.
He released all of the sceptre's seals and chanted.
"Eye of Destruction!"
The artificial Mind Pools of the sceptre, all twelve of them drained and, from the opened eye of the sceptre, a colossal black beam of absolute destruction was unleashed.
But the result, was utterly shocking.
For the first time, Nox saw a visible representation of the Dungeon's support.
Masses of swirling magical energy coalesced around the Demi Spirit ,protecting it from the beam of destruction with the clash sending all of the melee team members flying back, luckily landing somewhat near the backrow support team.
The artificial Mind Pools drained at a fast pace but the beam from the eye of destruction was overpowering the Dremi Spirit until it suddenly devoured the energy protecting it and exploded as with the beam hitting nothing.
"I-It . . . Self destructed . . ?" Riveria questioned.
"No . . . My thumb is throbbing more than ever . . . It's not over!" Finn exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Nox was extremely pissed.
'Fucking Dungeon piece of shit! You think I can't kill that piece of green turd anyways!? I'll fucking show you!' He thought to himself.
"Everyone . . . Please retreat from this floor." Nox said.
"I have to agree. This is our chance. If we couldn't be that thing before, its hard to believe we'll be it now Finn." Gareth became the voice of reason.
"It's unfortunately but that's how it must be. Retreat!" Finn gave the order.
Bu a green, human sized blur flew at them at impossible speeds before they could, only Nox could barely react.
"Requip!" He chanted in a hurry and his Divine Orichalcum Set covered his body while Mistilteinn appeared in his hands, blocking in front of him as dashed before Ais, the target of the blur.
The clash knocked away everyone but enhanced by his armor that was enhanced by the special abilities of his Human Aspect, Nox held firm.
"Oh? Not bad human. But I have business with the little girl:" The green shrouded form spoke before Sending Nox flying into the air.
Nox who was sent flying though, suddenly shouted whilst spinning in the air.
"Gungnir!" And tossed his spear that turned into a bolt of silver light crashing down onto spirit,
Meanwhile, Nox's body creaked from the strand of divine energy he was forced to use in order to activate the ability.
"What!?" The green figure was shocked but blocked the spa at the cost of being sent flying itself.
Nox landed back on the ground and shouted.
"GO!"
"What about you!?" Riveria questioned when she saw him facing the direction the green figure was sent flying, with zero intention of running.
"I'll hold it here." Nox calmly replied in a way that left no room for reprisal.
Tsubaki wanted to say something against it but ended up just solemnly nodding. Someone else though, lacked that same discipline however.
"No!" Ais shouted, a very rare occurrence.
Nox smiled behind his mask and patted her.
"Don't worry. I don't plan of losing." He said.
"Nox . . ." Ais let herself be dragged by Riveria with a complicated look on her face, her thoughts her own.
As the group ran back, Nox finally managed to get a good look at his opponent's new form.
What he saw, was a light green skinned beauty with plant like clothes, bright, almost shining green eyes and darker green hair.
"Fine!" The figure spoke.
"I'll deal with you first then!" It said before making a huge earthen greatsword and infusing it with fire until in became like lava.
It held it above its head and then . . . It swung it down, firing off a fiery beam of destruction in Nox's direction, behind him the still escaping members of the Loki Familia and Tsubaki.
'Still not giving up on the others huh?'
"Excelia Burn" Nox started burning the Excelia stored in the Philosopher's Stone, instantly refilling his depleted Mind reserves and empowering him massively.
"Hmm?" Even the green figure was surprised.
"Call of the Abyss!" Nox chanted.
Countless tentacles of extremely dense dark blue water emerged from countless portals forming around Nox's body.
The dense water then swirled, creating a huge multi layered shield before him, just as the beam reached his position.
The retreating team looked behind them to see Nox's immovable figure and the titanic clas was embedded deep into their hearts and minds, filling the men with admiration and the women with adoration towards the red cloaked figure that protected them.
Noticing the clash was equal, the green figure changed tactics.
"Then how about this?" It said.
It then made a spear of thunder, enchanted with light before tossing into a blinding speed towards Nox.
This time, the attack was aimed solely at him but too fast to dodge.
He fired up Invictus at full power and swept with his Mistilteinn being pushed back slightly but crushing the attack.
"Well well. Looks like you are worthy of my full attention after all human." The figure spoke.
"Who are you?" Nox questioned.
"Beat me and find out." The figure teased.
"Dead things don't speak." Nox countered.
"Hahaha!" The figure laughed mockingly.
"Even if you kill this lesser clone of mine, it will do my true self no harm." The figure revealed a tidbit of valuable information.
"Time to end you then." Nox spoke and time for words was done.
Now . . . With no further distractions as the Loki Familia and Tsubaki had successfully escaped . . . It was time for the real battle to begin.
