The next morning Donna woke the kids up for school. They ate breakfast and then went out to wait on the bus. Mrs. Donna grabbed her purse and the envelope to mail out. The bus came.
"Come on you can sit with me," said Haskel.
"Okay," said Peter getting on the bus.
So they sat down and the bus drove off. All the kids on the bus were nice to Peter. The bus arrived at the school and everybody got off the bus and went inside.
While Mrs. Donna mailed the envelopes she got a phone call from Ms. Shelly.
"Hi Shelly," said Mrs. Donna.
"Hello, are you busy?" asked Ms. Shelly.
"Not at the moment why?" asked Mrs. Donna.
"Well I have some great news?" asked Ms. Shelly.
"You do? What is it? asked Mrs. Donna.
"For years, since Peter was born, there was a family in South Dakota that has been keeping up and following Peters's case. I think they are going to adopt him. The husband is a Ranger with law enforcement and his wife is a lawyer. I"ll send their info to you in your email," said Ms. Shelly.
"Oh that is wonderful, I can't wait to tell Peter this good news," said Mrs. Donna.
"Don't tell him yet, not until the family is going to adopt him," said Ms. Shelly.
"Right, okay thank you so much, Shelly," said Mrs. Donna.
"Your very welcome, goodbye," said Ms. Shelly.
"Goodbye," said Mrs. Donna hanging up and going back to work.
Back at school, the teacher introduced Peter to the class.
"Class this is Peter, tell us a little about yourself?" asked the teacher.
"My name is Peter I was born in South Dakota on the Indian reservation, my parents grew up poor and they couldn't afford to take care of me so they put me up for adoption, which I don't blame them. So I live with a foster family that will take care of me while I am waiting to be adopted. So far I've moved three or four times growing up because of all my foster families are short term," said Peter.
"You lived everywhere then," said a kid.
"Yes I have, I've lived in Flordia, Texas, California and now here in Oklahoma, which I'm excited to explore," said Peter.
"You are an Indian right?" asked another kid.
"Yes Native American Indian, Lakota Sioux," said Peter.
"That's cool, you get to go explore on the Indian reservation in Oklahoma, there are lots to explore there, also here we have museums, lots of sightseeing as well," said the kid.
"Thank you all, you've been so kind and I can't wait to explore things you have told me," smiled Peter.
"We are glad you came as well, now you can have a seat and we will get started," said the teacher.
So Peter sat down in front of Martha and started listening and doing work until the bell rang for lunch. Peter turned around to talk to Martha.
"Since it's almost lunchtime, do they have good food?" asked Peter.
"Some of it is good, it's not homemade but it's okay, oh and stay away from the chili, it will make you go potty," said Martha.
Peter just laughed and turned to finish his work. Then the bell rang and everybody got up and headed down the hall to the cafeteria and got in line. When they got their food at the end Peter was waiting for Martha and Haskel.
"Where do you guys sit?" asked Peter.
"Come on, we'll show you," said Haskel leading the way.
So they went to the table and sat down together and ate.
"So what activities do you do around here, do you do any sports such as basketball, football and so forth?" asked Peter.
"Well we do different sports, I do football and Martha is a cheerleader," said Haskel.
"Oh that's cool,'' said Peter.
"Did you do any sports?" asked Haskel.
"No I didn't," said Peter.
"Wow that is crazy, you never did any sports," smiled Haskel.
"I know I must not be any good," said Peter eating.
"No you must be good at something, we just have to find what you are good at," said Haskel.
"Well I do write stories for a hobby," said Peter.
"Well that is something cool and unique," said Martha.
"Yeah I guess it is," said Peter.
So the bell rang again and it was time for music/singing class. So, Martha, Haskel, and Peter sat together in the auditorium together.
"So has anybody sang or worked on a song of there own?" asked the music teacher.
"Anyways, who wants to sing just because," said the music teacher.
A few raised there hands and the teacher picked Martha and she came up on stage and started singing. Peter was blown away by her voice.
"Wow she sings great," said Peter.
"I know she sings all the time at home," laughed Haskel.
"Really," said Peter.
"Yeah she does," said Haskel smiling.
"Wow," said Peter.
"Thank you, Martha, anybody else," said the music teacher.
A few raised there hand and she picked another person.
"Wow all these people sing very well," said Peter.
"Yeah they do, they all sing lovely," said Haskel.
Then the bell rang and it was time for everyone to go home. So all the kids ran out of the building waiting on the bus to arrive.
"Martha I had no idea you sang so beautiful," smiled Peter.
"Thank you," said Martha.
The bus arrived and all the kids got on the bus, the bus drove everybody home. Haskel Peter and Martha got off the bus and ran to the house and came inside.
"Afternoon guys how was school?" asked Mrs. Donna's husband.
"Hey your back, this is Peter Wolf," said Haskel.
"Finally nice to meet you, my wife has told me about you," said Mr. Joseph.
"She has?" asked Peter.
"Yes, when I'm gone for days or weeks, she always writes to me," smiled Mr. Joseph.
"Wow where do you go?" asked Peter.
"Well I'm a businessman in construction work, rebuilding homes and buildings, making people happy," said Mr. Joseph.
"I don't know why, but may I have a card?" asked Peter.
"Oh sure you can," said Mr. Joseph.
"Thank you, I don't know why?" asked Peter.
"It's quite all right little one," smiled Mr. Joseph.
Mrs. Donna had food on the table and gathered everybody up to eat at the table when finished everybody cleaned up and went to bed.
